I'm not sure ping_ho meant it in a bad way. I'm going to agree with everyone, irons look really nice except the stamping near the toe. I have a m4 and that fw looks really interesting as well.

These irons/wedges are so disappointing to me looks-wise. Who approved all the crazy stamps and busy looking cavity designs? The 588 line is SO classic, Cleveland really had a tremendous opportunity to make these simple, beautiful, outstanding designs. Unfortunately IMO they ruined them from the cavity side but I'm sure they do look great from address.

Do people actually like gold paint fill? I wasn't a fan 15 years ago and I'm still not today.... CB look very nice though, minus the stamps and gold.

Best looking Cleveland iron since the old TA-1s. Once again all the frustrated interior designers don't like the graphics on the back. Luckily we still don't hit the ball with the back of the club...

At least we didn't have to hear the they are just copying Titleist irons or Mizuno irons like those two invented muscle back irons... Word to the wise---get a hold of a few old golf catalogs from the 1950s (Wilson, MacGregor, Spalding) and tell me who is copying who.......

 

Hostile much? Can't speak for everyone, but no real interest in interior design. I just figure that I ought to like the way a club looks (both in the bag and at address) if I'm going to use it as a tool to play better golf...not to mention dropping $900 or so hard earned dollars on a set.

 

And they do look an awful lot like various Mizuno and Titleist offerings from the recent past- other than the ugly-arse engravings of course

They could have gone with a bit less stamping on the wedges, but both irons look great to me. Especially the CBs.

A set of these with the new driver that is coming will look pretty slick in the bag. The driver is really different. It is going to blow peoples' minds, IMHO.

Not according to my wife, but that's another story. Just thought it a bit much that you call anyone who doesn't like the aesthetics (arguably) derogatory names. As for RF, ok brah, whatevs.

I saw these irons and wedges in person today at a demo day at Stadium Golf in San Diego. They look great in person. I didn't get to hit them, so can't comment on that. They also had a Cleveland Black driver and that thing was stunning.

I've gotta giggle when I read all these comments about looking like............, 588 looks like vokey. Really. I could care less about the stampings. Feel and performance baby. Forged 588! Are you kidding me. Saw them today. These have to be one of the sweetest looking implements for war I've seen in years. 588 a few years ago was in everyone's bag. Ordered 2.

All these clubs other manufactures have copied, ping anser, Cleveland 588, wilson irons etc....., and uninformed people are claiming these are copies of......, whew! If you only knew.

Frankly if you go back a couple decades there is really nothing new in forged irons other than the superior quality of shafts. By the way Clevelands new iron line is as good as it gets. Forged from 1025. Gotta love it!

a Forged blade, a forged muscle back and a titanium face iron are a little more then cosmetic changes

I got to hit all of the new stuff at a demo day it is awesome! The wedges are just as good as I remember! The new irons feels great. Also the new mashie plus appears to have less offset compared to last years model.

They only had a wedge of the new black irons but it felt nice as well couldn't tell if it was because of the ti face or the myazaki shaft.

dear cleveland - feel free to put as much crap in the cavity and back of the muscle as you want, I think it looks cheap , but that';s just 1,000,000 people's opinion, but will YOU PLEASE STOP with the bounce nymbers/dots on the sole? It's like your engineers have never cleaned a clubin their lif or they're masovhists or what, i dont know!! seriously, it no longer makes you dofferent , just dumb.

I'll do a combo set of 588 CB and MB's but i'll never touch anoyher wedge that has the stupid little dots on the sole!!!

Not sure why everyone is whining about the stamping... The only thing that matters about the way a club looks is how it looks at address, and these look pretty nice. Pretty sure that you can't see any stamping on a set of blades at address.

Anyways, hope Cleveland puts out a satin or a black pearl finish for these. That chrome finish is crazy bright.

Real forged. Precision forged refers to part of the process. Most forged clubs come out of the forging process with a large amount of flashing on the head that has to be trimmed and polished, resulting in some variances from club to club. This process results in a very small amount of flashing that has to be removed, resulting in a more consistent head shape.
