Thank you, sadly my stash is about 50% of what it was 8 months ago. Between the batchelor party, wedding and not buying any beer since April it has dwindled quite a bit.

 

Tonights clear winner was Stickee Monkee 2015 This beer has really mellowed with age and was a great compliment to the turkey dinner. 2nd place was the 2014 BCBBW which has also become much better than the great beer it was fresh with age. Sadly last place went to Backwoods. Backwoods is just a shell of how great the caramel smokey marshmellow greatness that was the 2014 release.

Completely the opposite for me: Blushing Monk is a syrupy stick Sweet disaster, and Rubaeus is light crisp and slightly Tart.

I got the call this morning from the store that they got the BCBS in and they held on to a bottle of the regular and coffee for me, which I picked up after getting into town. How long can I resist? Lol...anyway....everything in the stock right now is barrel aged, less Bells Expedition and Hinterland Luna Coffee Stout. Tis the season!

I found the Rubaeus sweeter than the Monk..... But this Beast is one of the top three Stouts I've had, the latest version.

I'm headed to my regular shop now to see about barleywine if not I'll head back to whole foods later with wifey in tow as a mule

I love barleywine in general. The proper English versions not American Barleywines. Bcbbw is a great example of a bba English barleywine. I didn't get any 2016 though but still have 2 2014s left. If you can get more bcbbw it's generally a good idea to get as much as you can.

 

My regular shop didn't get any bcbs or variants. They didn't sell enough core GI beers this year. Ended up getting a Bruery Melange 14 and 2012 JW Lees port cask

Wifey makes a great beer mule. Now I have enough 2016 BCBS to at least keep my 3 year vertical going. I have a buddy coming in from Iowa in two weeks so we are going to do a tasting of 2014-2015-2016 regular bcbs.

Non Ba Stouts(all lower than the BA versions)

3: Old Rasputin (I could argue flipping 2 & 3 here)

5: Expedition. This one got ranked lower because IMO it needs to be aged 12+ months to knock off some of the heat. After 18 months it starts getting really good though.

6th ahead of BCBS honestly it's not fair to put Vanilla Rye and Chocolate Rain in there. Both incredibly rare and near perfect examples of every flavor profile i love.

Can't really disagree there if I took out VR and CR we'd be pretty close. I've only had Abyss once on draft in HI. I have a bottle of 15 waiting for the best after date.

 

The Rum Barrel on the Pirate Bomb was a very nice compliment to that beer and I don't like rum

I had the bourbon barrel Ten Fidy to night. I have to say it's one of the best bourbon barrel stouts I've ever had. I also had these.....

I think they are skipping it for 2017. They are re-releasing Mars, double ipa, and on their press release it said a few of the favorites are taking a break for 2017 but not retiring.

That's too bad, Hopsoulution is one of my favorites, but I've never had Mars and it sounds really good.

Mars is without a doubt my favorite IPA from Bells. It was the best beer of the Planet series by far IMO. Really excited they're releasing it again.
