That is all.

You know, as hard as they were pushing it, it kinda turned me off from even wanted to try it. Thank you for jumping on the grenade.

I just want a straight up 7-7.5% IPA. Or a RIS around 9-10%. Don't need the frilly stuff, just make a solid mainline. That is all.

Truthfully, I liked the beer, but I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed because there's virtually no barrel character or maple detectable at all. It's essentially a less-tart Cherise. If they hadn't of released it under their "Barrel Aged Series" brand, I think people would have been surprised by a great cherry ale...unfortunately I think they got people's hopes up for a unique BA beer and it simply isn't.

They should have just brought back Project Pam.

Feel free to add me on Untapp'd(same user name)....It's easy to choose a beer if it doesn't have good ratings, but you have to be careful about the ones that get good ratings too. I've learned a little bit by using the app, and you really need to find the beer ratings from those who are true beer enthusiasts and trust their opinion more than the novice drinkers(typically the ones who just rate the beer and don't say anything about it). It's annoying too when someone checks a beer in and doesnt even rate the thing.

Has anyone on here done any kind of trading?

Puppet, I had the Duet & Hoppy Birthday.....Hoppy Birthday seemed better than the Duet to me, but the Duet wasn't a loser either

I will only trade in small allotments for rareish stouts or barleywines that I cannot get in AZ. I have had two shipments destroyed by UPS one out going trade and one incoming trade. Both 10+ bottles. I think our local ups center has an X-Ray machine and/or someone who really likes beer and they pull the boxes. Each bottle was wrapped in individual zip lock 1 gallon baggies and bubble wrap insides of box was lined and padded so I know it was not leakage.

Shipping 1-2 bottles in a medium fed ex flat rate has seemed to work better. Most of the time it is just not worth the hassle. Plus AZ brewers do not brew anything that is attractive enough on a national scale to elicit the crazy trade value hype of some of the beers out there.

Today's victims, both aged quite nicely!

If you're in Anza, look up Rams Hill, only Fazio in county! I'm biting my tongue saying this, but avoid Barona because it's not in best shape. Take Steele Canyon- canyon/ranch 9's!

My trip is starting to take shape. Our flight lands around 11 am on a Sunday, so we have almost a full day to sight see and hit breweries in SD. Monday through Wednesday will be heavy work days in Anza, so likely no golf. Thursday we head back to SD; I see that Ram's Hill is only 5 miles from my hotel so I'll probably play 18 there first thing in the morning. Friday, a buddy of mine happens to be flying into town at 10 am. He's already played most of the area courses and wants to try something new so we're leaning towards Journey at Pechanga. Maybe dinner and a couple more beers then I'll hit the red eye back to Detroit.

Ohhhhhh, Speedway Stout in cans available at AleSmith..... Yesssss Surrrrrr!

12's or pounders? LOVE the smoothness of Speedway Stout....I remember back before I really got into craft beer, I thought to myself, 'That beer can't be any good. I mean it has checkered flags on it.' LOL!

Well, I better like it this year... last year's was awesome.

Did you end up liking it as much?

Me? I love it. I'm on my third six-pack and think it's one of the best I've had for Hopslam.

Next Saturday is my 24th birthday so we're leaving for the mountains Friday night. I'm from central Georgia. Not sure if any of you guys are from the North Georgia area, but we're looking for 3-4 cool breweries or pub style places for Friday night and Saturday. Any tips on any places on the Blue Ridge area right around the Ga/Tn line? Thanks!

Went to a bottle share last week. There were some really good beers. It got a little crazy with 10-12 people, popping multiple bottles at the same time. The Drie Fonteinen kriek and SARA Lady in Grey were the two that really stood out for me. It could be because most of the other stuff was bourbon barrel aged beers...palate fatigue.

finally got a line into Hopslam... Is it that good or the hype machine running full blast?

My own opinion is pure hype, Ok IPA far from one of my favorites.

Psuedo Sue hit Tavour this morning and I'm pumped been dying to get my hands on some TG stuff especially since some A hole at UPS probably has a box full of it that they pulled a trade shipment to me from delivery in December. Order ships in two weeks also got some stuff from Melvin in there which I'm excited for

Also had a 2016 Bells Black Note and 2014 BBA Plead the Fifth arrive yesterday from a trade.

Edit

This one is for Toddnt New TB Island Zone Performance polos are nice Went to the PHX Open Launch party last night

Depends on your tastes obviously. Over the last year I have been spoiled rotten with Tree House and Trillium and it has definitely changed my palate. Now stuff like Hopslam is still very good but a bit too boozy and malty for me. I don't prefer my IPAs to be 10% :)
