The new Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 grips are....

....freaking awesome! I've played the NDMC for years but these 360's are amazing! I no longer have to worry with my OCD and the lettering and lines being straight, and the actual "feel" in my hands and during contact (w/ i20's) is better than ever! ...just thought I share in case anyone is in the market for new skins!

I have the new GP TV 360's on my clubs and am really impressed, they do have a soft feel. I think I am fixing to add some tape to my sand wedge and bump it up a little bit. I put these even on my fairway woods, driver and hybrid and have been impressed, though I think I am going back to the Tour Wrap for the driver.

LEFT HANDED
Driver:  TaylorMade SIM 2 9 degree adjusted to 10.5
Fairway:  TaylorMade SIM 2 16.5 degree
Hybrid:  TaylorMade M4 19 degree
Irons:  Cobra Forged Tec X 5-GW/Wedge: TaylorMade Milled Grind 2 54 degree
Putter: Work in Progress
Ball: TaylorMade TP5 yellow

These are meant for the clubs with adjustible heads, so they will look the same in any position if the shaft orientation changes. If you want midsize they can be built up with extra tape. A rib would be a bad thing if you made an adjustment to an adjustible driver. Some people will like them on all their clubs, they have a good look and feel.

These grips came on my Titleist AP1's. Terrific. Give it a try.

May keep the New Decade Multicompound on my 54* and 58* wedges for awhile for the extra grip security greenside.

Can you get them in .580" with reminder rib?

If not, guess I'll have to pass...
Reminder rib would kind of go against 360* design, as when you rotate your shaft to say a lower loft setting on TM (90*) your rib is now facing a different way.

Tried it... and didn't like it. Tour Wrap 2G still is the softest grip from GP.

I think Golf Pride has got it right: Moisture Management / Feedback / Surface Texture (traction, grip security)

In my opinion, it's grip security v. softness and feedback.

No doubt these feel great but the performance was lacking. I get the attraction and tried these for a season; but I don't think these work in hot, humid, moist, or wet weather very well.

See: http://www.golfpride.com/grips/tour-wrap-2g/

Now compare to the qualities of the Tour Velvet 360.

http://www.golfpride.com/grips/tour-velvet-360/ (TV 360)

and the qualities of the New Decade Multicompound. (NDMC)

http://www.golfpride.com/grips/tour-velvet-360/

My impression is that these TV 360's offer a little more shock absorption (ground contact) than the now Classic TV's and offer very good grip security in all conditions but without the harshness of the NDMC.

Another grip to try is the Avon Chamois, great shock absorption, soft feel, and grip security. My main problem with the Chamois is it has some twisting (torque) issues, not in the grip itself but in the material. My guess is that is why this grip doesn't attract more high level players, who don't want to add another variable to their swings and impact.

I played the Royal SandWrap grips for years.

Different strokes (uh, grips) for different folks. For me now, it's the TV 360 in every club but the short game scoring wedges, the latter of which require the greatest grip security for the lightest grip pressure. Maybe for the driver, too. Odd, huh: light grip pressure for the scoring clubs and very secure grip pressure for the flailing action of the hands for the Bomber?

Good golfing. Enjoy.

He's broken his toe three times on account of it. It's the only game I know that you can call a penalty on yourself, if you're honest, which most people are. There just ain't no other game like it.

Performance is the best so far for me. I live in an area where wet weather happens almost daily. No problem so far.

I can't never understand about shock absorption from a grip. Whatever grips I have used in the past, it still feels sting when I mishit my irons.
