any tips on how to get a discounted rate to play the Bandit? I don't see it on golfnow.com.. do they send out any good specials if you sign up on their email list?

Vaaler is amazing and then you see the price and it's even more amazing.

I get to use the junior rate since I'm a student. But I can honestly say I have never seen them on a discount rate app or anything unfortunately :/

I've played Falconhead and would consider it next best to the Hyatt Wolfdancer if I had to rank courses in the Austin area.. (public courses ranking)

Matt was really not thrilled with the drive to Vaaler...he's kinda in check mode with a curtain gorgeous female...but it'll be Saturday, it looks like...I think...it'll be somewhere, that's for sure!

Also, they had a segment on Save Muny in the morning drive this morning. Hope they succeed in saving the course.. gr8 little gem in the heart of Austin..

I'm less and less impressed with wolfdancer every time i play there. I played there Monday, teed off at 1:00 with 3 other people. I left the course at 4:54 after the 13th hole. There wasn't even anyone else on the course. I understand you can't really help who get paired with, but that's absolutely absurd. Aside from the slow play, the conditions were less than worth it for the price. I'm sure I'll probably give it a few more chances but of things keep up, I'll take it off of my list

Thought Delaware springs was ok...certainly not worth the drive...lions is way more fun, along with all the other courses in the area I play...the layout didn't knock me out at all...was wishing I had stayed local...three guys I was playing with felt the same...oh well... Did see lions on golf ch this morning...

One of the guys had that xe1 wedge, 65 degrees and wide sole...he let me try it...that thing works!

Bill I'm sorry for delayed response. Work has kept me away from the computer the last couple of days. I'm also sorry I missed you today. I ended up playing with a twosome from San Antonio at 12:30. I'm guess I'm in the minority that really enjoys Delaware Springs.

I'm up for playing next weekend if you still have a open spot.

Played pine forest...lost five shots on the front with the putter...everything was extremely close or lipping out...wasn't putting bad, they just weren't quite dropping...then I started overswinging again on the back, like an idiot, lol...75%...I gotta stick with that. Period. Every time I stepped on it I pulled it far left...guys I played with were a blast, so that took the edge off a bad round...

And when I figure out where to play this coming weekend, I'll let y'all know...will talk to Matt tomorrow...windy Saturday, so I'm liking Sunday...
