The SA version of this usually blacks out Friday-Sunday until 2pm. That's all I would think is in the fine print, but I am just speculating.

With any coupon or promo I just set up a normal tee time and at check-in/pay time I present the coupon/promo.

drove to gsmith on 183 just to hit some balls, lol...
well, they had the cobra fly z driver on sale for $199, which just doesnt suit me compared to the ping rapture, so i did save $199, but bought some ztech no resistance plastic tees just to walk outa the store w/ something!
also looked at some wedges, but i gotta see how i hit my macgr gap at 50% before getting a 52-54 wedge...do have a $100 coupon from golfnow i could use...i'm sure i'll get a 54 before too long...

I walked out with the tee's............. and a cobra amp cell 3W & 5W for under $100. We played Lions this afternoon and did really well (for me) with the new set!

Booked a hot deals tee time thru golfnow for Bluebonnet only to find out that the course is closed due to the rains. Drove over to Harvey Penick after that.. had the course to myself and played it backwards.

How is Penick? My son said the layout is not very good - something about tee boxes facing each other? I don't remember at the moment. I have never been and He doesn't want to play it.

I hear it is reasonably priced and challenging.

I love the layout at Penick. The course is designed by the PGA tour and was in excellent shape when it opened back in 2004. It was in good shape till around 2010 and then declined due to it becoming popular and golfnow deals for $5-$10 for a round with cart. I see folks driving the course all over including tee boxes and next to the green (it is supposed to be cart path only on Par 3's and it has 6). Also, the management here does not like to spend $$ on upkeep, as they try to use most of their funds for the first tee programs.

I still play a majority of my rounds (mostly practice rounds, I don't keep score and play more than 1 ball if I am on my own) at Penick since they have a great deal on membership - $375 per year which gives me unlimited rounds. Its another $400 or so if you want cart privileges. It also has a good practice range and short game area.. I must have played over 750 rounds on this course (including my first round of golf when I started playing in 2004) and will continue to play it as long as I am in Austin.

Ran across some interesting news today....Avery Ranch was bought by Teravista folks this past July. Membership at either course does have some reciprocal privledges.

Pretty nice setup for those of us in North Austin.

I played one ball through 8 holes until I OB'd the 9th tee box. I lost 3 more for the rest of the day. I think I may be ready to move up to your pinacle gold once I run out of my remaining nitros

Was visiting family in Austin this past weekend, and played Lions for the first time. Walked it with a buddy of mine who is a golf coach at a local university. What a solid course with lots of history, some really good holes and some with some really tight windows. Overall had fun and did not lose a single ball.

gonna try this wkend, but saturday looks wet...was trying to get the d200 sw, but they're on back order...so went to the golf club on ben white to see if they could help me out, and found a ping g20 sw in 54*, which is the loft i wanted, for $59!!!!!! new!!!!!! awesome! since i no longer needed a 54* sw, i used my $100 clev coupon on their all black, white lettering, stand bag...

and when i got home? my new cleveland bag was waiting patiently for me! found stuff in the old bag i had forgotten about, lol...

Clay was good when I played it. Greens were not rolling true though. This was about a month ago.
