Interest in road trip weekend {Prescott, Pinetop, Flag ?}

Local Wrx's, are you just about fed up with summer golf in the valley of hell! Lets see what the interest is for an outing. My thoughts are to play golf in Prescott. Not to far, good courses, fairly cheap greens fee's and lodging, and a good chance of an afternoon round with the monsoon rain. Was thinking Antelope Hills for 36 on a Saturday, stay the night and play somewhere Sunday morn and head home.

 

 

Whats your thoughts for golf and a weekend that would work?

Count me in depending on date. I can get a 4some on Talking Rock in Prescott....pricier than the other courses, but an option.

that sounds great count me in, played it once, nice track.....if we do not nail down a weekend maybe just a turn around trip. Talking Rock in the morning and Antelope Hills [old course] in the afternoon? Do you have a connection for Prescott Lakes?
I am available July 21 and 28 weekend, for a one day turnaround I prefer a Saturday over Sunday.

Yup. But timing is the biggest issue w/ getting on....so no guarantee.

20th or 21st are good by me. Going out of town the following week.

Why don't we try for a day trip on sat.7/21 . Can you look into getting us on talking rock let's say around 8am and I will see about getting a tee time at antelope hills around 2pm. Looks like you can only reserve tee times 7 days in advance. I will call tomorrow to see if there is any conflict with that date. Spoke with Mark and Blake, they might be available to play

Antelope Hills N & S have events on 7/21,cannot get on N till 2:30 and S until 1pm so we would need talking rock in the morning to make the 7/21 work, any ideas?

Talking Rock is $85 with the OB Sports card. Is that the same deal you have Joe?

Would prefer the North course at AH but whatever works.

If the 7/21 date works out for Prescott who is in?.... need a committed $$ head count before 6pm tomorrow. Tenatative plans are Talking Rock in the morn. and Antelope Hills N [old course] in the pm some time around 2-2:30 if all pans out.

That sounds fun but I can't make the 21st, but Im doing Quintero/Prescott CC tomorrow, Continental (flag) and Pinewood CC (munds) on Saturday, and Flagstaff Ranch on Sunday.

Not trying to hijack the thread but have you guys considered Sedona Golf Resort and Seven Canyons in Sedona. Sedona is only 500ft below Prescott. Compared to AH the courses are nicer, too. Nothing against AH as it is a nice course. You could easily play them both in a day as they are only about 11 miles apart. You could also stay nearby and play Oak Creek Country Club the next day.

If you ever decide to do the weekend thing in Sedona let me know and we can offer a great over night rate at our Inn. We are 3 miles from 7 Canyons and about 8 miles from Sedona Golf Resort and Oak Creek Country Club. We are a 16 room AAA 4-Diamond Inn. Take a look at http//casasedona.com

I think talking rock is on the expensive side and since I already played it before I don't think it is worth it. Looks like tee times are available at stoneridge for 7/21 morning around $45. We can play antelope hills north after 2:30. We need to book stoneridge ASAP to get the correct am time to make the afternoon round work. Can book antelope hills this sat. morn. So........

Tht would work for me Tom but I'd probably opt out of the Friday round and play sat/sunday. Unless the prices at 7 canyons have gone down since last year, I didn't think it was worth $75 for a twilight time.

If anyone else wanted to change out Stoneridge for 7 canyons, I'd be interested I that.

I'll talk to my wife and see when she can get some time off so I can make it up north for an over night trip.

I am game if the dates work for Prescott.....as a side note if all plays ( we get the home) out we may be able to stay and play at my new summer home on Bison golf course in Showlow, play bison, silver creek and torrreon. If we get the house we will be on a piece of heaven property with a par 3 green just out my back door and a par 4 fairway out front. Played it today, tight short 6400 yrds redesigned by Billy Mayfair with great bent grass greens par 71 and fun. Silver creek just up the road is one of Gary Panks best. Torreon speaks for itself, Troon facility. Best of all we can all crash at my place, bar b cue and cut loose on the local golfers passing thru my back yard.
