Wife wants 2 lists..... (list updated)

Top 10 must play, Top 10 that will not cost our first born. Below is what I have come up with. I am assuming she wants this for future surprises, which is fine by me! Please give me some input if I am forgetting anything. This lis is not complete, but it's what I have come up with. It will not include private courses which she cannot arrange play, and would require me to set up play (Shinnecock, Winged Foot, (you get the drift) I need suggestions and input, as I do not want to forget or miss any must play courses in the USA and world that she can arrange play at.

Yeah but compare that to the open sites where you would need airfare as well as the cost to play, and pebble which is just insane and the price is a lot more reasonable. What is expensive to you may be very doable to him.

$200 Greens fees for a few times a year trip isn't enough to cost our first born. Pebble, and Open courses in the UK are.

Seems to me that the Ocean course can be played for cheaper than Whistling Straits. The Straits was going to be like $500 to play with caddie.

Maybe add Shadow Creek to the top list?

- East Lake
- Sea Island (have played there and the scenery is gorgeous)
- Kapalua Resort in Hawaii
- Waialae Country Club in Hawaii

Not sure which course falls into which category for you but these are some of the courses I would personally add to your list.

This list cannot have courses like East Lake and AAC (Although I would do anything to play AAC). Those courses she cannot arrange play at, as they are Private, as I listed in the origional message. Sea Island is a good thought.

Sorry about that, I wasn't even thinking about these being private.

What about Trump National Golf Course? While I don't like "the donald" as a person, I hear the golf course is spectacular.

The Club at Cuscowilla is another great course. My brother was a caddie there while in college and he would have people ask him what Cuscowilla meant. He would tell them it is Native American for "on in two, off in three" as their greens can be very mean at times.

Do not put tpc Scottsdale on your list, it's a waste.

I'd do bethpage, Torrey seems to get a mixed bag of reviews as well. Brandon has got to be on the list.

How about some of the sleeper courses?

Arcadia Bluffs in Michigan is well worth the visit. Northern Michigan has a number of excellent public courses.

ocean course probably belongs on the same place as straits.....those are pretty much the same ballpark of cost. Is it due to travel costs?

Places overseas, Pebble, Whistling and Kiawah would cost our firstborn. Torrey, TPC Sawgrass etc. Harbour Town, Bay Hill are not too bad, which I have played all 3.

How about the Players Club in Valentine Nebraska. Two 18 hole courses that are supposed to be spectacular (hopefully I'll know this for certain within the month).

But if it is at all doable, Pebble is absolutely worth it.

I believe you are talking about Prairie Club. Pines course is great. Dunes course is just okay IMO. Not sure they would be on an all time lost by any means.

Definitely the Prairie Club, while the Dunes course is the better of the two, the Pines is no slouch. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip. Evenings on the veranda with a glass of Glenlevit after a nice steak, doesn't get much better....

Will check em out. Anything over 325 ish and it get's expensive. Anything at that or under and I usually play 2 rounds at each property we have visited.
