I played in a golf tourney this year where some guy won a 2011 Nissan Sentra for a hole in one.

Now, I didnt golf with the guy who won it, but I played with the guy who "donated" the car to the tourney. The "dealer principle". I didnt know how that worked until that day. He was so happy to hear the car was won by somebody. He had gotten some type of insurance on the car to cover the full value and it had been on the lot for 300+ days.

Win-win for both parties apparently, LOL

This weekend in a charity scramble i won the raffle for an Ohio State gift basket that contained 4 very nice seats to the second game of the season against UCF. As an alum and huge fan that was pretty sweet. Go Bucks!!!!

In 2004 I played in a charity scramble in South Florida and won closest to the pin. The prize was a brand new Omega watch. Outside of cash for a calcutta that's probably the most expensive prize I've won.

The best prize in terms of practicality was the tee gift I got a few years ago at a local member / guest. They gave everyone a Club Glove Last Bag and I've used it a bunch over the years. Best travel bag on the market and I didn't have to pay the $280 for it.

Hahaha another group, defiantly not mine. My best prize is a bunch $200 worth of pro shop credits for winning my division in the annual four ball...

Two years in a row I won the best raffle prize at a scholarship outing, signed basketball from a NCAA tourney team, signed mini helmet from NCAA champion coach. not to mention I won the pot of gold 5 years ago. Contributing to the education of another Wildcat always pays off well for me.

I didn't win it but some years ago I saw a guy in the group ahead of us on a Par 3 win a Cadillac with a hole in one. Thing is, he hit a CRAPPY shot. There was a lake left and partially in front of the green and a few bunkers. Pin is left behind the water and a bunker of course. Not going to make it easy. On the right the cart path angles from the tee close to the green because of big oak trees on the other side of the cart path. Anyhow, this clown slices the crap out of his shot, hits one of the oak trees on the right HARD. Ball bounces off the branch, hits the cart path bounces up on the green and rolls about 50 feet and goes in the hole. Stupidest thing I have ever witnessed.

Played in a four person team scramble where they give out raffle tickets for a drawing after the tournament. My three sidekicks had to leave so they gave me their tickets. After giving away five prizes I was feeling a little let down but the next few prizes up were free rounds for a foursome at some local courses. The first number they call I won, the second number called I won and you guessed it I won the third number called as well. Just to mess with everyone when they called the number for the next prize I stood up, took a couple of steps, and said nah not mine.

It was actually 2 tournaments in a row. Won ~$600 in proshop money in an amateur tournament. Just about paid for my Mizuno mp63s (once I sold my old irons I actually came out ahead). The following weekend played with my dad in a 2 man scramble. We shot 62 gross, tied the course pro who played with an ex-Nike Tour player. I had closest to the pin on 3 of the par 3s (all inside 4 feet). I was throwing darts, but the real hero was my father, who made every single birdie putt putting first. Won about $200 pro shop money, got my Mizuno mp ti 3 wood. It was a good 2 weeks!
