Best tourney prizes you've won

So today i played in my first golf "tournament" for a charity over here in southern california. They had the typical closest to the pin challenge on the par 3's and on a 155 yarder i knocked it a foot closer than the previous ball.

 

Fast forward to the banquet and i hear them rattle my name off as the winner for that hole. So i walk up to collect my prize and to my surprise, my choice for a prize was between bottles of alcohol, and since i was the first to be called, i got the first pickings so i snatched up the dom perignon thinking if i dont drink alcohol ill at least get the fanciest and classiest one i can as a trophy ?

 

Anyway this was my first tournament and first prize so i was wondering what other interesting or good prizes you guys have won from tourneys. Post em up and enjoy

Years ago I won a new set of Hogan Apex Plus irons in a closest to the pin contest.

I've played in a lot of tournaments and my top 3 are:

1. Won $1,100 cash in a calcutta scramble
2. $750 in pro shop credit
3. A $600 Traeger

My best prize was beating my former member-member partner after he "fired" me just before the 3 day tx. On the first playoff hole I sunk a 45' birdie putt to win the tx in front of 200 people just after he came up 30' short on his attempt.

My best prize was in our company league tournaments. Three years in a row I won a jacket and a trophy for 1st place at the annual outing!!!!

I won a mountain bike about 15 years ago that everyone wanted. I can't remember the brand name and, sadly, I wasn't a bike rider. It was really cool - sat in my garage for a few years.

Two nights lodging and dinner for two at a nationally rated restaurant on a nice golf estate, that just happened to coincide with our anniversary. Suddenly golf climbed in the esteem ratings with my wife!!

earlier this year I won an OGIO travel bag for second place $199 retail, in July we halved a skin in a outing for $240 each, my favorite was this weekend our team placed first and i got long drive. $275 in gift certificates( bought a new carry bag, golf shirt and hat)

I won an Adidas Golf Shoe bag for coming DFL over a 2 day stableford competition. It was a birthday trip for one of the lads from my club at a really nice course. I scored 39 points in total over 2 days...and yes, I was very drunk. I think it was a pity prize!

I have also won two drivers for longest drive prizes, and I always wonder why you would give a guy who hits a great drive a new driver. If you hit the longest drive you probably don't need a new driver. It just doesn't make sense.

It's better than the $25 I have won the last two times I won a longest drive contest.

Ya that one doesnt make too much sense... Although i would have loved to walk away with a new callaway razr x black driver but i lost the putting contest by one stroke ?

Just finished second in my junior club championship and won a white ice #1 and a titleist hat for a closest to the pin challenge. This is only my second year playing so it meant alot to me.

One year won a bottle of Crown for closest to the pin. Someone else won a four rounds of golf at a decent (not great) course and was willing to trade.
No brainer trade.
He had to call a taxi and I had three new best friends.

The best for me was an authentic Wisconsin Badger Football helmet; for a 2nd place finish. There was also a GB Packer helmet but that went to 1st place. Funny thing is this was only a 9 hole event/tourney, and maybe the only 9 hole event I've ever done. Yet still the best prize. Go figure.

Besides that, I can't remember winning anything other than gift certificates...

Best would be a $300 calcutta win many years ago in a 2-man best ball out in Texas, where my partner was some guy named Slicefixer. Next best would be box seats for12 and catered food at a pro baseball game, after my brother holed a 30-foot downhill putt for eagle on the 18th.

Best "non-competing golf prize" ever was a phone call from my dad in April of 1983, when I was in college in Texas and he was working in South Carolina. "Son, the company bigwigs just gave me 4 Masters badges for Friday AND Saturday, plus a hotel room. Get in your little z-car, start driving east, and meet me in Augusta." Yessir!

Never understood that either. Or, longest putt, player gets a new putter?!?!
I've hit some long drives but only won one, seems the longest drivers in my neck of the woods hit the ball furthest in the later part of the day toward the end of the scramble.

Earlier this spring my playing partner beat the pro at Kohler in their Spring Challange. Everyone who beat the pro on the par 3 went into a drawing. Dan won and received a foursome on the River course anytime! We played the week before the US Womens Open (rates were $250 per person). He was nice enough to take me along, since he is my guest for the Spring Challange.

Not my best prize, but I played in a charity scramble earlier this year. The course has a 240 yard uphill par 3, a hole in one got a brand new Audi A4...for everyone in the group. Yes, someone got a hole in one, and they gave away 4 Audi's.
