Really impressed with how Callaway is reaching out to the common man. These look great, alot better than the last iteration, can't wait to hit them and see how they react with the PXI's. Really excited that they are the stock shaft, they load and release much smoother than the original PX's and make the club feel a tad head heavy imo, which i love.

Not sure if this has been asked but do we have a head size comparison to the 09-xforged?

Hey Harry... just curious how are the Musclebacks still selling for you guys? i love them BTW.. i hope you keep making them....

They are doing well. But "well" by MB standards is still a really REALLY small segment of the market. We will always have a true blade iron out there. Roger is already working on the shaping and finish for the next one.
Um. Not sure if I posted my thoughts on this awhile back, but for me, as a Razr MB player, I'd be hard pressed to say your current MB offering is a true MB. It is forgiving. Not sure how you did it, but they are awesomeness in a box.

Trevor Immelman's bag. He just tweeted that he's testing these and likes 'em. "Soft and forgiving."

Yeah, I really wish I enough time to play enough to game these. I don't think there's a more appealing option for a good player for 2013 than some combination of the X-Prototype utility and the X Forged irons.

Man. That never stopped me. I played with a guy one time that was easily a 20 handicap. And he played Mizuno forged CB at the time and just loves the feel of them. Had them with Steelfibers in them and he was in nirvana.

I was trying to convince myself to go more GI the next time I change irons (like Ping G series) but it's hard to look at most of them. But really, these X-Forged might be worth an extra stroke or two per 18! And a good score is all in the short game anyway.

OK, you've convinced me. Now for the wife....

Exactly!! Truth be told when I went for a PING fitting I wanted to get fit into the G Series and hit terrible shots with it. Couldn't adjust to the look of the club. My fitter handed me the i-series and I just flushed them. S-series as well, as to my eye, they just looked SO much better to me. I focused and hit great shots.

Not sure if we've posted this yet. But here are the specs for the XForged. You'll notice there's no A-wedge in the set right now. Initially the thinking there was we have a new wedge coming that would be the wedge for this set and most Tour players don't match the 50 deg wedge to the set. But we're also working to possibly get an A-wedge into this set. No dates on that one yet.

PW: 46 degree, 35.5 inches. All subsequent lengths are half inch longer.
9: 42
8: 38
7: 34
6: 30
5: 27
4: 24
3: 21

D2 swingweight.
Yes in lefty.

Stock shafts are PXi 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5

No, we're trying to build really long length clubs so you'll hit it farther...just kidding! Yes, I typed that one in wrong. Fixed it above. Need more coffee!

Just tell your wife you are testing them for Callaway and have all of your credit card bills sent to your office like me. Now for all of the golf boxes, take out the trash before being asked to do so, no, scratch that idea then she will be suspicious like my wife for me doing something without being told to do so.
Not to get off topic, but the maddest my wife has ever gotten at me and seriously the only lie I've ever told her was golf related: About three years ago I took the day off from work to play golf with some friends and didn't tell her. I had originally planned to get home at normal time, but as people often do, 36 had an emergency 9 attached to it, followed by the necessary settling of bets and the also necessary ordering of refreshments and dialogue about all the day's activities. So I stumbled in about 3 hours late, having never called my wife (huge mistake) and proceeded to tell her that I had gone out late in the day for 9 and ended up getting carried away. What I didn't know was that she had dropped by my office earlier with my daughter and had already busted me on the original lie. Holy Mother of God. I'm still hearing about that day.

Moral of the story: When you lie to your wife about golf, make sure you have all of your basis covered!

Oh THANKS a ton for this. Was really interested in the specs. Just goes to show how much stronger the lofts are on the Diablo Forged, although I wonder if some of that has to do with how high they launch initially, so those need stronger lofts to get the expected distance. The DF's are about 1*-2* stronger in loft than these, although I'm willing to bet that the X Forged would have a more penetrating ball flight.

Sorry I didn't want to have to Re-Read thru all 20 pages or so.

Agreed, I asked a while back when pre-order date is, but haven't seen a response, so maybe it'll just be 'release date' then get in line as these are going to be a top seller for Cally.

Great story Harry, as many of us can relate! Nice to see standard lengths and normal lofts.

"#endangeredspecies" made me laugh, but you'd be surprised by how many are going back to them!
Do what Luke Williams, our product guru for irons and woods does: Get a 3 iron and bend it 2 degrees strong. Also adds just a wee bit of offset which makes it a little more forgiving to look at!
