Who was it that was asking to see a comparison pic? Here's a shot of RAZR X Forged (left) and the new X Forged (right) 5-irons.

And this picture doesn't do it justice. The top line on our new X Forged irons is noticeably thinner. You'll know exactly what I mean when you hold one for the first time. But for now, hopefully this will suffice!

First thing I notice is the toe of the X forged is much smoother thru the transistion from the front of the toe to the top of the iron...I like that so much better than the Razr X forged...thought that the Razr X forged looked a touch 'cut off' if you know what I mean!

The top line has a really nice FLOW to it, from a nice transition from the hostel to the face to the toe. Very clean and aesthetically smooth. The Razr X Forged isn't that way at all. You either like the look or your didn't. I wasn't that big of a fan. Which is kinda odd in the the X Prototype didn't have that.

Yes. Exactly. Like the designer was going for a blade with a longer heel to toe profile, then just stopped an ran outta space. Rather similar to some of the Hogan designs from years back.

I owned a set of Razr forged and always thought the 7 to 3 irons set up beautifully. The issue for me was the short irons which were clunky and a really weird shape (especially compared to the musclebacks which were lovely) - has this been addressed on the new irons - does anyone have a comparison shot of the 8 or 9 iron ?

Thanks, Chad. IMO, the Razr X-Forged mid to long irons still look pretty good, but will agree that the 2013s look even better.

I was the one who has been asking for this. Thank you! This is excellent. I’m a visual guy so this is perfect!

I agree, it is much smoother, much more natural flow and transition from the top line through the toe.

Lets just steal the same exact look as mizuno, then put callaway on it and make it shiny! YAAY

Geez, posts like this drive me insane. You can always tell when some new guy comes along and thinks mizuno owns the forged iron look. Hey, might as well say Macgregor or Spalding.

Did those use Diamond technology? I do not think Spaulding or Macgregor did
Mizuno however did use, and looks very similar just saying..

Macgregor's use of diamond shapes goes way back. You can search for Macgregor MT irons, but I'm pretty sure they used them way before that too. Spalding, I'm not sure but none of this stuff is new. Mizuno makes awesome irons and I've owned a bunch of them- MP-63's, MX-300's, MX-200's, etc. But they aren't revolutionary. They are just doing what everybody has done for a long time, and doing it with very high quality.

Like Wilson making fun of TM Rocketbladez, you eventually learn that there are very few new golf ideas. And Forged blades look like forged blades, and forged cavity backs look like forged cavity backs. You can say one company is ripping off another, but that's kinda like saying "Your iphone has a speaker?? What a ripoff. My Nokia had a speaker first!" Same thing.

Macgregor did back in the day and so did Tommy Armour. Mizuno just happens to be the most recent, just like TM is the most recent to use this slot stuff. There was a club called the "Reflex" I believe that had something very, very similar.

Yeah. Now it's a matter of seeing the PW. Because Mizzy can make a beautiful iron save the PW. LOl
The transition from top line to toe and then on through the arch of the toe does look choppy on the Razr X Forged. They fixed this issue with the 5 iron, as pictured above, so I am holding out hope they got it right with the PW as well.

Ok, I have to give Chad and Harry big props for reaching out to us her on WRX. I think its even cooler that they used my statement about these on the Callaway website. You guys are building a fan here and all the Titleist in my bag are really nervous!!

+1 on this post. I could easily see myself switching out my I-20's for these.

It would be very un-Callawaylike if they weren't. Usually the only thing you can't get in lefty is a full selection of the wedges. Other than that, you should be good to go. Helps that their biggest gun is Lefty himself.

The topline definitely appears thinner, but it looks like it gets thicker toward the shaft, maybe even thicker than the Razr X-Forged. And the hosel appears thicker as well. But that could all be a function of the light and reflection on the more polished '13s. These are beautiful irons, but I don't think I can drop the Razr Muscles for these.
