AXE Xcaliber Tour SL fitting help

I'm looking at ordering the Axe Xcaliber SL Fairways, but don't see any swingspeed fitting chart for them on their site or elsewhere. So asking for guidance.

 

Should I be looking at A flex or Regular?

 

Some more particulars. About 90 with driver, faster transition than smooth. Want good fairway launch, but I've had issues with clubs being too tip soft and ballooning or head flipping if I go to A flex or even regular with soft tip.

 

Currently playing R flex stock R11s, Harrison Impulse TR Regular 90g hybrid shafts that I had tipped an extra half inch. Aetrotech Steelfibre 70g in A flex in irons (I think now that 80g reg or A would have been ok, but they work due to the shaft integrity).

If you check their website, Aurthur Extreme use MPF ratings for their shafts. For example, a R flex Xcalibur SL would have a playability factor of 3B2M. The important number is the first - 3 is a recommendation for 82 - 93mph driver speed. The second number 2 is for medium trajectory. A bit complex maybe, but ideally, you would get fitted by a pro would be happy to advise anyway. Here's how the MPF system works:

FWIW - stiff would equate to 94-105mph - I wouldn't recommend if you need distance.

Apparently you can call the company and the owner (Robin Arthur) frequently answers and can advise about choices.

Great info, thanks, and I've bookmarked it and printed the specs. I'm seeing a clubmaker this weekend ( not a full fitter- you my recall my comments about difficulty finding one locally). Very helpful to have in advance for my consult with him.

Robin does NOT return emails. Mine was a month ago and very simple and I received no answer. The company must have issues. I know that hundreds on here love their shafts and I want to love them too, but when I read posts like "send good old Robin a call or send him a note" I think it is only fair to say that he is currently unavailable. Just saying...

I think he has become more busy than he could have imagined. I also saw a post somewhere that he was spending time helping family with Storm Sandy issues.

I suggest you do the shaft fitting guide at The Golfworks [url="http://www.golfworks.ca/article.asp_Q_ai_E_496"]http://www.golfworks....asp_Q_ai_E_496[/url]
then match it with the specs on their site. Jaskanski also provided a good link to me in the posts above.

The staff at Golfworks seem to know the shafts well from my calls to them. I went with the regular SL after checking the specs and talking to them and so far so good.

I was able to contact Robin via email a few months ago (Nov 26 2012), but that was then.

I think you'll be happy with the regular. I haven't played the SL but and A at 54 grams seems risky.
