i love these individual player bag shots that are broken out from the event, especially when you get so many awesome closeups of the various sticks (including shafts)...very cool that you can get those pictures; mr wilson appears to be yet another player here with an "individual" choice to carry an older 3-wood -- fairway woods really seem to be the most persnickety clubs; as always great pictures!

Interesting that he's gone more upright on his irons, yet his wedges are still blue dot.

When I went through my G25 fitting I was fitted for the blue dot. First time I have ever played upright irons, but it helped me hit them in the center of the face. The fitter, Ernie who works for ping, said to keep my wedges at the black dot for more versatility in shots. So flatter for wedges, at least sand and lob, are recommended.

5 WOOD - Tour Edge C721 19* Ventus Red 6s

My question is why is the TaylorMade bag in the picture? Have they become the "Where's Waldo" of golf? :taunt:
What picture is there a TM bag in it?
There isn't Greg. I think he just wants there to be one so he can point it out.

I was actually in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago during the Waste Management Open. I went over to the Ping factory and went through their custom fitting process. I was fit for Blue Dot Anser irons. When I started discussing wedges with my fitter Brian..he explained their philosophy behind putting a person in wedges that are one color code below what your irons. With me being Blue I was put in Black Dot wedges. Brian explained that on wedges they don't want the heel of the wedge coming in to the ground first. That is the reason they go with the one color code lower towards standard. I never knew that in all my years of playing golf. It made sense after he explained for roughly 15 minutes. If you ever get a chance and your in Phoenix and want Ping clubs. You can not do better than going to the factory and talking with the Ping guys. They know their product and how it performs. The best thing is they don't rush you through the process and answer any questions you have. It is a little over an hour wait by the time you sign in and start the fitting process, but it is worth it.

It is also interesting that with all the "Tour" putters out there on tour that he apparently is using a OTR Ping Karsten Anser. I love it!!

Goes to show that these guys can play anything and it doesn't matter what the name is on the club!!

I' m a big Ping fanboy but the best part of his WITB is the iron shafts. Do a search on Wrx and the.y get constantly slammed. Cool that Wilson and Westwood both use stok Ping shafts albeit older models.

I like it too! Martin Kaymer and Mark Wilson have made some huge putts with OTR putters. I've always shake my head when people drop so much coin on Circle T's...

Yes there were many people that hated the CS lite shaft. I for one actually liked it. I think most people did not like it because it was too soft than the stated flex but with the right tweeking, it was a good shaft
