Bushnell Pro 1M versus Leupold GX4I

I am about to buy either of these 2 range finders, however I am torn between the two. They are both the same as far as price, but I want to see what you members think?

Leupold is my suggestion. Although I do not have the GX4I, I have the GX1 and I have seen the view through a similar Bushnell and the Leupold view is crisper and brighter and exudes more quality.

My buddy owned the GX4i and couldn't sell it fast enough to get a Bushnell just for the Pinseeker function. The Leupold wouldn't lock onto the pin for him, and the Bushnell is super easy. He loves the 1M.

leupolds not locking on the pin are often a result of user error... you don't push and hold the button like on bushnells. for leupold, you push and release. however, there was an issue w early units

that said, it will prob boil down to personal preference as both are nice and both have their fans/detractors. coming from a 1500 and gx3i, I thought the displays on the slope models was small and cluttered

Get the Bushnell, it's the best on the market IMO.

I have a Pro 1m Tournament Edition and I also have a GX-4i. I really like both units and would have a difficult time choosing one over the other. If you're a walker, the Leupold may be a better choice simply because of it's compact size. Otherwise, flip a coin, both are great!

ETA: Be prepared for sticker shock when you go to replace the battery in either model. I bought 2, CR123's for the Pro 1m last night at BestBuy and the total was $18.xx. The days of the 9 volt batteries seem to be over with the new crop of laser rangefinders.

I could have sworn that I have always read about the Leupold having the much better build quality. Now I'm reading the Bushnell seems to be better. I'm going to go to GS this weekend and handle them both. I do like the display in the Leupold a bit better

You can't go wrong with either brand.

Find the one that feels best to you and there's your winner.

I for one dislike the Leopold display. I find the Bushnell MUCH easier for my old eyes to see. For me it's "not even close" the other way.
