ASU Karsten vs. Talking Stick

So my friend and I are deciding between these two courses tomorrow afternoon. Which would you guys recommend? Thanks

I would take TS all day long. Hell I would rather go play on the 202 during rush hour traffic than ever play Karsten again.

We were sort of cramped by time today because we are going to the world baseball classic tonight at 7 so the longer drives were out of the question

It's so stupid right now, worst time of the year for golf, price wise. I don't think I've played a single course here I'd ever pay more than $80 for haha

Here's what Tom Doak says about Karsten:

[i]These holes are packed together like sardines, but the steep mounds between holes prevent you from seeing the balls coming at you from adjacent tees and fairways. It's also one of the most visually unappealing sites I've ever seen. It's only merit is that it's right smack at the edge of campus. Overall this course is a horrific waste of money and effort.[/i]

Karsten has the name and it's miles away from being desert golf. Not a fan of power lines or seeing cars/traffic either. If you're coming or going to Sky Harbor and have limited time, do it. Otherwise, TS is a much, much nicer course.

Yea so all the things mentioned about Karsten are true! What a mediocre course overall. I shot an 80 but took a 7 on 9 and a 6 on 18. Bummer

ASU Karsten is a good place to play if other options are booked and want a course that you can score on in good shape. Also you can get your OB Champions card here for a bit less and then travel to the other OB courses for great rates. I also like to use the practice facility at Karsten over lunch breaks.
