Just moved to Chandler AZ - Advice

I just moved to Chandler and looking for some course advice. I have researched some In tje area and know there are some great ( and expensive) courses there. I used to vacation in PHX. I am on a budget until things settle down. I like to tee off early as a single. I am used to being a muni player by the way. Just like to play golf.

Where can I play a descent round in the Chandler area? Bear Creek? Any help would be great.

Welcome to the area man! You'll have to come out and join us for a round! Where abouts are you located in chandler? While not in Chandler, Dobson Ranch is a nice affordable option

Thanks man. I am at Pecos and Dobson in the Blackman Ranch subdivision area. I cannot believe how much we like it here. I think I may go play Bear Creek tomorrow morning. I look forward to trying hook for a round with you.

San Marcos is cheap, but is also one of the most boring courses you'll ever play.

Bear Creek is not bad at all and very reasonably priced. They also have a walking rate if you like to do that.

Down in that same general area, Lone Tree and Oakwood are a couple of better than average courses that are easy on the budget.

Most places will certainly pair you up because as the temperatures rise toward summer, those early tee times are in demand. But in just a few months, everything will be cheap!!

Thanks for all the help. I will look into the other courses. Yes, I love to walk using my push cart. I'll give the Bear a shot tomorrow and see how it goes.

Bear Creek isn't bad as long as you stay out if the fescue. It's brutally hot in the Summer with no shade trees though.

Lone Tree is an easy affordable course.

Trilogy Power Ranch is my favorite course that far south.

Check out Whirlwind. They have 36 holes that are always in great shape!

Headed out there this afternoon for some final preparation, they have the best practice facility in Arizona hands down. It just kind of sucks that it's $25 to practice though, but well worth it!

Well, after almost 8 weeks I have only gotten in 3 rounds..hah..moves keep you busy. Funny thing is that all three rounds have been at Bear Creek. That is a fun course because they have grass..unlike Albuquerque City Courses. Just kidding. Yes, hard to get the early tee times at the nicer course like Ocotillo, and Whirlwind. Lone Tree is my next stop then Whirlwind. Southern Dunes doesn't look very far either. I need to find out where Trilogy is.

Man I love AZ!!! My family thinks its a dream come true...and they don't even golf! Got a pool in my backyard and awesome golf all around me. Life is GOOD!

I have a practice membership at Ocotillo. For about $550/year that's ALL the balls you can hit, putting greens, practice bunker, etc. nice facility.

Ocotillo??? Where is the bunker? at the other end of the range? I live in Ocotillo and never heard about this membership.

hilarious...I have never seen it or bothered to go to the back.

550 is not bad.....I don't care for the chipping...but would go for this....I am paying 85 at Dobson for the punch cards....it is about the same based on my usage
