Public Course Recommendation in North Texas

Have friends coming over from Atlanta week after next and looking for place to play on the 3rd and 4th in the Allen, Plano, McKinney area. Narrowed it down to four where senior rates run from $27 to $36. Looking for feedback from anyone who has played any of them recently. They are WestRidge in McKinney, Pecan Hollow in Plano, Ridgeview Ranch in Plano, and Watters Creek in Allen. Thanks.

I play Pecan Hollow often, they renovated it about a year and a half ago or so and did a real good job, I thought. Nothing fancy, but a nice course for a muni, and a good value. I was out of town last week but my buddies played Watters Creek; that course was also just renovated. We didn't like the course before (was Chase Oaks), but they really liked what was done with it. Westridge is supposed to be fun, has 6 each of par 3's, 4's and 5's; haven't played it, though.

My favorite mid-priced course near that area is Woodbridge, in Wylie/Sachse. I'd check that out if you can, I think their senior prices are reasonable. Bring a lot of balls, though; you can find water and/or heavy brush on almost every hole (or at least I have).

Was a big fan of Woodbridge when I live in the Dallas area, but haven't played it in years. Was always surprised at how aforadable it was.

This. I've been in the PDA at Woodbridge for going on 5 years. Rates up until 2:30 include your choice of a sleeve of balls including Pro V's.

You want to play a fun course, try Heritage Ranch in Allen. It's in and owned by a retirement community and it's always well taken care of and not easy by any stretch. We really enjoyed it.

Nice course and this time of year as the temps rise they usually offer specials. Their clubhouse is awesome.
