I've never played Perry Park. I believe it is a private course and I don't have anyway to get on. That being said, the pictures I've seen make it look awesome. I have also never played Interlocken, so no first hand account there. My friends that have played Interlocken have said it is a great course, and is always in great condition. In comparing CommonGround to Perry Park, I think that CommonGround is the absolute best bang for the buck in the Denver area. I am slightly biased though, because I do really like CommonGround. I'm headed out in a couple of hours to play there. As far as Perry Park to Arrowhead, I would never pay to play Arrowhead. I have played it a few times in scrambles, and while the scenery is amazing, I don't think that the rates are worth it for standard play. It was not in the best condition any of the times that I've played it. If I could get on Perry Park I would play it in a heartbeat. If it is between Perry Park and CommonGround, I would go Perry Park, just based on the photos. If you are coming here from Texas, I think it would be a much more memorable course.

That being said, if you are traveling here for the Cup, and want a Colorado "mountain" golf experiance, I would highly highly suggest, Bear Dance. Other than the Broadmoor, Bear Dance may be my favorite course on the front range. How many rounds are you going to get in?

Tried Bear Dance but couldn't get tee times and it's a little pricey for some in our group. We're playing CommonGround on Thursday, Arrowhead on Friday, and Interlocken on Sunday. Going to the SC on Saturday, have passes to the Ping Pavilion. Our local pro is trying to get us on Perry Park on Thursday so I don't know what we would do if he managed to get us tee times there. I'm leaning toward Perry Park over CommonGround if he does but there's five others who are playing so I don't know. Perry Park does look good from the pictures.

so played commonground today. Was in good shape as far as fairways and rough. Actually the rough, not the native, was very thick and penalizing. The greens were running quick, but they were bumpy. They see a lot of play so i understand, but still, very bumpy.

CSU,

Thanks for the report on CommonGround. We still don't know about Perry Park yet. For some reason I couldn't get the link you sent for Perry Park above to work. Did you use caddies at CG? Thanks again.

I can only share a little of Perry Park and I don't know how much help it will be, but I'll throw it how there anyway.

My son got married there two years ago. It is a beautiful setting and we were supposed to play it but were never able to make it happen. Pictures were taken out on the course so we did get to see a lot of the course while driving to the picture spot. It really did look like a beautiful course.

I also had a customer who just played it a couple of months ago. He didn't gush about it, but said it was very nice.

I would think if you are able to get on I would take the opportunity

I haven't played PP, either (sorry). From what I've been told, it is a lesser expensive country club alternative for those living in the southern suburbs. This is comparing it to Valley CC, CC at Castle Pines, Columbine CC, Pinery CC, and Meridian. It's a nice course, but no real "wow" factor--especially compared to Bear Dance just down the road (which is amazing).

That is exactly the feel I got from my customer who played it, nice but not the Wow factor. Thanks for saying it better than I did.
