Does anyone know anything about the status of the course in Elyria that is being reconstructed by Nicklaus "The Valley of the Eagles". I'm just wondering if they stopped part way through because they haven't updated their Facebook page since last October and I think it said something about having limited play this fall 2016 at one point.

That guy ruined spring valley. The construction of the new "course" looked like shitt last time I drove by, which was about a month ago.

Went by there yesterday, still the same, lots of dirt, no update. The holes by the road look done, but on the backside, all you see is dirt. I cannot find any update, I wonder what happened, ran out of money?

I moved to Olmsted Falls about 2 years ago. GoIrish17 told me about this so just saying a friendly hello. Muni Courses around Cleveland are pretty great IMHO. Love Fowlers Mill and Boulder Creek is aestically fantastic. Sleepy Hollow also another favorite.

Kent State was a fun track. Back 9 especially had some good holes. I played it probably 20 times in 2 summers driving the hour plus round trip because after 2 on weekends it was 24 bucks for my son and I to both play 18 with cart. When he turned 17 that deal ended for us, and we didn't return. I guess that tells you something.

 

Never played the other 2.

 

But man, oak knolls? That one hurts.

It had been pretty bad for 5+ years IMO. You could never play there in the summer. pured wedge would bounce 10 yards minimum on the greens. rock hard is understatement of year

 

aurora is the one around here I most was sad to see go a while back

That's funny we played there probably 20 times in April and then November through December the last 2 years (not this year) and always said we need to come back during the dry season. And never did. The way they that sand base drains we wondered how they kept it playable. Oak knolls was open when nothing else was, had some really good holes and will be missed
