Has anyone ever been to the dome in Cuyahoga Falls is the simulator fairly accurate there say within 10 yards my local dome has simulators but they're really inaccurate like 250 yard drive shows 180 bad

I live 4 miles from the dome. I've only been in the simulator there once or twice. As i recall they were pretty much what i expected distance wise. The one issue we had was when a buddy hit a ball in some junk. When it landed you could see it was dense woods. When it was his turn again though he was just standing there seemingly in the open. But when he tried to hit it, he couldn't advance the ball. It gave him no apparent option to take a drop/unplayable and made him hack at it until it finally "maxed" his strokes at 8 or 10 . So his score ballooned for no reason. So you get that you pay for. I got an hour on the sim and an hour of range time for Christmas so in February when there's 4 feet of snow on the ground i guess it will be better than more shoveling.

Anyone familiar with the golf deal at Mallard Creek for 299 for the 2015 Fairways Pass? Never played these courses and seems like it involves multiple local courses. Any reviews of Mallard Creek, Briarwood Golf Club, Pine Brook and Grey Hawk, please let me know !!!

If you are interested, let me know, website is included themallardcreek.com

Can't really say what they're like these days and I've never played Briarwood, but historically the other three are as follows....

Mallard creek - 36 holes so you have some options. I'd say an average public course for NE ohio.
Pine Brook - haven't played there in years. First hole was always nicely manicured but after that, mostly a typical farmland turned golf course lorain county course.
Grey Hawk - I really like this course but the conditions have been all over the place. When in good shape, probably one of the best (if not the best) public option in the area. When conditions are bad, still a nice layout, but probably not worth the greens fee. I bought 4 rounds on group golfer for this year for around $25 each. Definitely worth it.

Second all of those reviews. Nothing to right home about for any of them.

I'll "third" that and add that mallard creek is the most overpriced and over-hyped course in the Lorain county area.
grey hawk is fun and it's a way different style of course than is typical around here. conditions were great when I was there, kinda in BFE though
As a whole I like grey hawk....especially when it's cheap on golfnow. Number 7 is an assssss kicker of a hole and I'll never forgive #4 for making me four putt for a bogey. Yes you read that correctly, I four putted for bogey hahaha

That Cleveland golf show is like an indoor garage sale with vendors trying to clear out five year old shirts that smell like an old couch. There are some decent deals to be found on clubs sometimes.

Oh and the grey hawk "2013 club champion" is one hell of a cheater hahaha.
That's being pretty optimistic, Brian. With how much snow we keep getting it'll probably be May before we see green grass..Although I hope it's sooner, I haven't swung a club since late August and am starting to get the itch to play again.
Yea since it's blowing snow right now and up to -32 with the wind chill.

I went up to Erie to Golf Evolution to take their Aimpoint Express class. It was a good experience for sure. Those two guys got a great set-up and the course material was very beneficial. I would highly recommend the class and the instructors. I was surprised with how simple the whole concept was and how easy it was to learn. I was also surprised at how terrible I was at reading greens without it.

It was $125 for the two hour course and you get to go to the course for free anytime they have it for refreshers or to recalibrate your mind. I think they said that most Aimpoint certified instructors will honor this as well. I haven't had a chance to use it on the course yet but everybody I have talked to that uses it says it just gets more and more efficient and accurate the more you use it. I think I had it figured out within the first half hour of the class and the rest of the time was all getting used to the slope reads and actually aiming. If you want any more info, let me know.

Because I always forget and want to be sure to make it this year, when is windmill lakes demo weekend? This weather has me thinking about golf again.
According to Titleist's website they will be there the 24-25 so it must be the 24-26 of April, I think it usually is the third week of April I have gone the last two years and probably will miss it this year unfortunately.

Where do you guys play early in the year. Looking for somewhere where the greens will be somewhat respectable, but I guess it has been too cold for the grass to grow.
