Looking at going somewhere new played every course in Trumbull County. Played Windmill Lakes, Sugarbush, Boulder Creek, Flying B, Kensington, Little Mountain as well as others I know I am forgetting. I kinda want to go to a course that has that old country club feel. I was looking at Hawthorne Valley. I don't mind driving an hour or so out of the way. I would love to play something with that old country club feel that isn't too crowded I'll play it on a weekday afternoon. Anyone got any suggestions.

Oak Tree GC in West Middlesex just across the PA border from Hubbard. You will love it. One of my favorite places to play around here. It's not crazy long, the greens are always nice and the rough is brutal. Used to be a private club.

I'm so confused. Am I playing at sometime in the future at little mountain or did I miss playing at windmill last Friday.

I believe that Little Mountain is a future option. Windmill was a sort of last minute thing

Wow I ventured to Olde Stonewall Saturday and man was that an experience, played it with the THP guys and let me tell you if you don't hit the dead center of the fairway you are in a bunker. It was definitely a good experience started on the back 9 and shot 39 with a triple on 15 after a good strike that went into the fescue and birdied 10 and 11. Some of those fairway bunkers are ridiculously deep, that is what ate my score alive on the front 9 and shot 46 on that side.

It's definitely a must play.

I got beat up there, a little by the fairway bunkers and a little by the high grass. I think I shot a 95 there and I would guess I had probably 7 penalty strokes...Two holes I had 2 penalties on the same hole. I really did enjoy playing there though. There is no place to miss on any of the holes and its a beautiful course. I had heard from several people that the greens were really tough, but I had no trouble putting once I found the green. I thought they were true and they were really quick the day I was there. I played for the twilight rate and was still able to make a day of it with the range time and dinner after. I have played a lot more money to play courses that weren't nearly as nice. I highly recommend playing there to anybody in this area....its worth the short drive.

If it was a Friday that'd be pretty tempting although my games been in the toilet this year ha. You have to hit me up sometime to at least try and get 9 in one afternoon, I've only golfed 3 times this year and I need to work on that.

I played Windmill yesterday. It was way out of the norm. Everything was dry and it was really tough to hold a green. After all the reason it was certainly different

If anyone is thinking about playing grey hawk, or is it gray hawk? Either way, the place is in rotten condition. Some of the worst greens I've seen in a long time. The place is really going downhill.

We paid $38 and I felt like I got ripped off.

Hey guys, I'm a Pa guy that is going to be in the Akron area Monday and my buddy and I are looking for a nice course to play a round at. Price range can be anything, I've played windmill and boulder this yr already. Looking for another nice track, comparable or better. Can anybody point me in the right direction???

Chippewa, The Quarry or Ellsworth Meadows are probably your best bets IMO.

All of those options are good choices. The quarry is the closest to what Boulder is like but Chippewa and Ellsworth are both solid. Use golf now and you can usually find some deals on tee times with any of those courses.

I really liked Fowlers Mill but I don't know how it compares to the others. I thought it was a good as Boulder but not everybody shares that sentiment.
