Looks like photobucket have changed their sharing settings and you now have to pay $399 a year for 3rd party sharing of photos! that's f***ing ridiculous!

 

will have to find another image hosting site to use. any suggestions? tried imgur but it wouldn't let me upload from my phone to the app

doing a bit of googling earlier apparently it was bought out by someone a week or so ago and they've obviously decided to change things. Can't imagine anyone is going to stump that sort of money up, absolutely ridiculous. Reckon they'll lose a lot of advertisers now too.

Played my quarter final of the clubs scratch knockout last night, against a 3 handicapper, had a putt on 11 to go -5 and win 8&7, sadly missed it but won 7 & 5 in the end.

 

Didn't hit the ball amazingly well but was straight off the tee, hit quite a few greens and putted well. birdied the 3 par 5s.

 

Club champs is this weekend so game is feeling pretty good, short game especially and irons were better last night. Not going to over do the practice this week, will hit a few balls in my net in the morning, will probably go to the range tomorrow night and hit some drivers just to get my confidence with that going, then maybe half hour or so on short game shots Friday night. Then game time.

Club Champion 2017

 

 

Well it was a good weekend for me. I shot 73 & 75 (CSS 75 both days) to win by 3. The course was playing very tough and the pins were in very tricky spots, several times I hit a good shot in to less than 10 feet and had to play over a foot of break and just dribble it to the hole as could easily have run it 6 feet by. It's the 3rd time I've won it now in 5 years.

 

First round I started electric and was -4 through 5, then a 4 putt double from nowhere on 6, a bad chip on 8 and a 3 putt on 9 had me back to level for the front 9. Silly mistakes but ones I learned from for the rest of the round and the 2nd round. Was very happy that I was able to knuckle down on the back 9 and solid it up, could've easily let it affect me and make more silly errors.

 

2nd round was very solid, hit some really good tee shots under pressure. Made a bad club choice on par 3 12th and made bogey, and a bad swing on 16 cost me a bogey. Then a nervy 3 putt from long range on 17 didn't help matters as I thought I then only had a 1 shot lead going up the last. Absolutely smoked the drive and with the adrenaline in full flow it went 313 uphill. Hit sand wedge to about 18 feet and 2 putted for the win, as it turned out the closest challenger also bogeyed the last few holes so I ended up winning by 3.

 

I was a little disappointed in the scores but the main thing is I won, my short putting was superb all weekend (I hit 3 good putts when I 4 putted :lol:), made a lot of very good swings and was very pleased with my mental game, really tried to put into practice the info from the Nick o'hern book I bought and it really helped. Really happy with how my game is going, my consistency is definitely improving, next goal is too shoot a really low number.

 

Needless to say I celebrated in excess and I am now extremely hungover and feel awful, but was worth it

 

 

 

Now have the dilemma of what to buy with my winnings, £270 worth of shop credit. I'm really happy with my bag setup currently, driver is the only thing I'd like to try a fitting for, i love my optiforce but i was fit for it 4 years ago when i hit it much higher and spinnier. Swing has changed a fair bit since then so would be interesting to see if there's something that's better.

Great thread and progress dude!

 

But I must say after reading then browsing all the pages of your thread... it makes me never want to take another lesson or study the golf swing again. If I took all the lessons and worked on all the little changes that you have in the past 4 years they'd have me with a straight jacket in a mental instituiton.

 

I guess though if I had your HDCP and could be club champion it would be worth it! :drinks:
