Footjoy Reelfit v. Adidas Tour 360 II

Hello, I want to buy new golf shoes and I remain undecided about whether I should buy the Footjoy Reelfit now or wait for the new Adidas Tour 360 II. Any thoughts?

FJ's are pretty funky looking. I like the new colors that the 360's have coming out.

I was able to choose any shoe I wanted as part of a trade for no $$ out of pocket. I spent 3-4 hours at a GG over a few days time walking around in shoes. I've always liked FJ, and picked the Reelfits. I love them! I've played in them a few times already and am very pleased with how they feel on the course.

 

They're easy to put on, easy to take off, easy to adjust, and the fit to your foot is better than laces due to the way the boa system is designed. Once you have them on a few minutes, you will find yourself adjusting to fit as the shoe loosens up, but with the boa system you just turn the dial and go...no untieing/retieing.

 

As far as looks...other than the boa reel on the back, they look like every other shoe on the market. Mine are the white/brown and they look nice and normal from the front. As far as the looks of the reel on the back, with pants on no one notices it. In shorts, I can't see it when I'm wearing them, so I really don't care. My playing partners see it, but that's because they're behind me in the fairway, on the green, etc... :drinks:

 

My vote (obviously) is for the Reelfits. They're simply good, comfortable shoes that are quicker/easier to adjust than laced shoes.

It's what fits your feet -- not someone else's foot.

 

So a poll is useless in that sense.

 

But I find the Reel Fits to be a great shoe and it fits me to street size shoes. I've walked 18 in them several times and my feet enjoyed them -- no spikey feel and very comfy -- just talk down the price a little.

 

I tried the FJ, 360s and the SP-8s and SP-6 with Power Platforms -- walked around the store for about 20 minutes with each. You can tighten up the Reel-Fits as you go in to customize the fit more -- after the round, they're easy to loosen up with a quick pull and push.

Their new line of performance shoes are SICK! Just ordered Powerbands and decided to keep the original Tour 360s for another season. Amazing shoes.

I walk 90% of my rounds and I just bought my first pair of ReelFits. The shoe is awesome. The most comfortable shoe i've ever owned.

hmmmm square toe Herman Munster shoes or athletic adidas? What a conundrum. FOr me the square toe is a deal killer. FOr some reason(tigerrrr) nike feels all their top of the line shoes must be square toe. Bad choice Nike.

 

I currently use 360s and am happy with them. they are the most durable shoe I have owned. They are still as supportive as the day i bought them. I bought them in the first month they were available. Wow long time.

 

I tried on the new nike offerings last week and they felt stiff. THe leather was hard and some break in time would be needed.

 

I vote 360 2 hopefully. None available near me yet. I live about two miles from TM. Where's the love :blink:

I thought the BOA system was hideous - until I wore them in a pair of my North Face hiking boots for a two week ski trip. It can make a regular lace shoe feel like a clunky boot by comparison.

I'm undecided atm, I like both the new Reelfit's and Tour 360's, probs price will be the deciding factor, and I'm not to worried about colours as I'm looking for a black pair in either one.

problem with the boa system is that you cannot vary the tension of the lace in your shoe/boot.
It's pretty much all the same tension....not good if you happen to like the laces a tad looser in the mid and tighter around the ankle...etc.

I bought a pair of Adidas Tour 360 II's last week. Just back from wearing them for the first time. Even right out of the box they are the most comfortable golf shoes I have ever worn. Got them for $120 too .

Just a side note - I gave my Dad a pair of the old model Tour 360 and after 3-4 months of wear, he now thinks these shoes are so comfortable to wear, that he likes them better than his normal shoes
I think this is the best recommendation for a pair of golf shoe - if they are more comfortable to wear, than the normal shoes, one wears on a daily basis, they must be pretty good

A shoe CAN be comfortable as a slipper AND hideous. But the hideousness (is that a word?) would keep me from ever seeing how comfortable they might be. They're just bad looking shoes.

No rudeness taken! But yes, it would bother me that there's a knob on the back of my shoes. Not because I could see it, but because I think it helps make the shoes look bad, and I'd know that others could see it. lol

 

I suppose I could wear short-shorts on the course, or tube socks pulled up to my knees, or golf sandals, or other things that wouldn't affect my ability to play well (or poorly, for that matter), but those things aren't my style. Neither is the knob on the back of the RealFits. So, I just have to pass on them.

PS -- I think Stricker wears/wore 'em, and his pants bunch up on top of the knobs, and it just looks terrible to me.

Looking back on pictures when I was 7 years old (in the '77), I'm pretty sure that that's a look that I will NEVER be repeating. LOL (At least I never wore the sandals WITH the socks, but it was still pretty bad.)
