Caddytek vs Clicgear?

Looking for my first good push cart. Looking at either the Caddytek EZ fold or the Clicgear 3.5+. Just looking to see if there are some opinions that may sway me in either direction. Is the Clicgear really worth the extra $70? Thanks!

I have a caddytek , bought it two years ago, still going strong. They are lighter than the big clic gears, but don't have all the accessories they the clic has available. When it comes to golf gear that doesn't have any effect on my game I usually go cheap. It's held up well and I've been kinda hard on the gal.

Not sure if you're a Costco member, but keep an eye out, the Caddytek drops to $100 pretty regularly and you could get it for $105 online as a non-member.

The Caddytek is an awesome cart for the value! My one minor complaint is the foot brake is a little awkward compared to hand brake on the clic gear, but not necessarily worth the $$$$ difference! If that make sense!

Thanks guys. Sounds like I may have to go with the caddytek. Looks like it has the same features as the clicgear, but at a better price!

I laid down the extra cash for the clic gear. My only comparison was the Sun Mountain 3-wheel carts. The clic gear is a tank, love the wider non-inflatable wheels. Has much more storage in the webbing area and love the magnetic closure on top of the cart. They also have a lot of accessories, I went ahead and purchased the bristle brush to clean the grass & mud off my shoes. That may be my favorite feature of the cart.

My Two main dislikes are the overall weight and the alignment of the cart.

It's quite a bit heavier than the Sun Mountain cart I came from. You can definitely tell a difference between the two once the bags are loaded up.

Alignment - - the way the cart is designed you have to stand on the front wheel to fold up and unfold, over the course of a season this will affect the alignment of the cart depending on how perfectly flat the parking lot is where you golf. The alignment feature is nice to correct the steering, I just find mywself needing to correct it 2-3x per season (50-60 rounds). I never had do anything with my sun mountain carts for alignment.

Thats a very good point about the alignment. I am going to shop around this morning when I have some free time to see what I can get the best price on. Either way I think both carts will be great. Thanks for all the help guys.

I still own and use the "OG" Clicgear that came out in 2009, no issues at all, been through a lot, 6 years of constant use in Hawaii and now here in VA, it is a really well made piece of equipment, I am contemplating buying the new one (3.5+), but mine still looks brand new, so it won't be anytime soon...

The wheel bearings will be the largest difference. The clic gear rolls easier than the caddy tek. Whether that is worth it to you or not is our decision.

Well I decided to go with the caddytek. Got one brand new on eBay for $100. Could not pass it up. Thanks for all the help guys. Will do a review once I get it and use it, if that would interest anyone.

I own both. I agree with the above statement about the food brake being a bit awkward. But considering the caddytek was 100 at costco, and the clicgear at the time was 230. (Canadian prices). Caddytek has more bang for the buck IMO.

I had both, returned the clicgear and kept the Caddy tek. I absolutely love this cart. I have had it for two seasons now and it is the best golf purchase I have ever made. The one thing I will say that stands out to me in terms of the differences between the two is that the Caddy tek is very easy to open and close. The clicgear requires a few more steps. I am sure you would get used to it though. As I recall, with the clicgear you have to lay the front wheel flat on the ground when opening it. Some people at my course lay a towel down in the parking lot when they open and close their clicgear so as to not scratch the front wheel.

Towel ok, I use a cardboard box side on my Clicgear parking lot contact point. That cart is so solid. Got mine Dec. 2015.

I could care less if Caddy tek was cheaper.....there are so many shoddy goods out in the consumerism world and Clicgear is not among them!

But, I also invested higher price points to rid myself of iron chatter (clubs clanging) and went with Bennington QO-12 designs for my clubs. Another worthy investment.

I love my clicker 3.5+. Rolls nice, handle is at a nice height, bottle holder is perfect, nice case near the handle.

Caddytek may be cheaper dollar wise, but there is nothing cheap about its construction or durability. I put 50 rounds on mine in 2015 and 70 in 2016 and it's still going strong. No issues at all. Like I said, I had both the caddytek and the clicgear and i returned the clicgear. I prefer the caddytek.

I have the Caddytek and so far no issues. Looks slick, seems high quality and cost literally 50% of the Clic.

My caddy tek is coming in today. I am so excited. Now if I could just sneak on the course after work without the gf finding out? :swoon2:

Had my clic gear for 3-4 seasons now

still works like it's brand new.

I don't know much about caddytek, so I can't compare the two, but it's been worth the money for me

One other thing about the caddytek from Costco is that costco's return policy is great. If it doesn't work out for you, you can definitely return it.
