Titleist Velocity vs DT Trusoft

Hello all. Im currently having a bit of a bag battle between the Titleist Velocity and DT Trusoft. Both play well for me but the Trusoft has a softer feel and seems a bit better around the greens, whereas the Velocity seems to be a bit longer. I guess my question is why would I choose one over the other. Maybe Im just overthinking it and should go with the Trusoft because its a bit cheaper.

I haven't played either of these extensively or in a while. I think the Trusoft is somewhat better around the greens than the Velocity - this is probably the the biggest difference outside of feel, which is highly subjective. It's still a surlyn ball, so you can only expect so much but I thought it was OK.

The Velocity may be marginally longer off the tee and full iron shots may roll out a bit more. I guess I'd pick this one if you want the longest and lowest absolute side-spin off the tee (although differences here are not that large either).

It depends on what you need. If you need more distance then play the Velocity. If you need more control on the green play the Trusoft. My golf game is not good enough to notice a difference between balls, unless it is between a ProV 1 and a hard Top Flite or Pinnacle type distance ball. I have had hard two piece land and stop within a foot or two of my short approach same as I have with a top tier spin ball. So for me what ever ball I put down is what I play. I do prefer a soft cover but it is only a feel preference. It doesn't make a difference in my score.

Sounds like they are behaving as designed or marketed at least. I found X Outs at Wally World the other day, Tour Soft and Trusoft in the box so I plan to test how the perform verses each other.

Or possibly try another ball. The Srixon Qstar plays long and soft. And for me has much better iron and greenside spin compared to the velocity. Why settle for one or the other when it may be possible to have both.

No thanks. Ive tried the Qstar and it just feels dead to me. No distance and it just falls out of the sky like a wounded duck. I also like that the Velocity/DT Trusoft are made in the USA. I did really like the Srixon AD333 though. Its really the only Srixon ball Ive ever used that didnt feel dead.

Im kind of in that boat. I like both balls and feel like I can get either to hold the green on full shots and the spin on partial shots is pretty comparable. I had a nice little 9-iron shot on Sunday with the Velocity that checked up and stopped within about 5 feet of the pitch mark.

Right now, Im leaning towards the DT Trusoft simply because its cheaper but both are really good balls, IMO.

They are the same ball.

I like the feel of the Trusoft putting and I think it stops better on the green.

Trusoft is one of the best balls ever made imo, long off the tee, stop great and feel excellent off every club. I dont care if other balls go 2 yards further.
