Swing weight question

I’m just wondering if someone could help me out. I got a stock F9 driver with the hzurdus smoke 6.0 shaft in it with the cobra connect grip on it. I ordered a VA vylyn shaft 65X to put in it to play at 45 inches. I’m just wondering how this will change swing weight of the driver I presume it will decrease the swing weight. I’m just wondering what I can do to bring it back up to D3ish. Would I have to order the 10 and 18 gram weights from cobra to bring it back up? It just has the stock 2 and 14 grams in the head right now

Dont think like that at all, the SW scale cant tell you what works the best for you.

Change shafts, and go out an test that club like it is, now try to add lead tape and see if it feels better and if you tighten up the impact pattern.

when you are done with this tuning, you know the needed weight to add IF ANY at all.

SW values belongs to the work shop when we build to a value found during trial and error on the actual club, not the other way around, so dont fool yourself by tracing a value you dont know if its the right for you on the actual club.

Thats the only way to make THIS club work right for YOU.

SW values dont express a scientific measurement at all like many think it does, so when we do it right, we often get a surprise when we measure that club when its tuned up. Some will end up with a lower SW value than they thought was right, other a value that was way higher, so instead of navigating using that scale, do it by your own human scale. Judge how you are able to feel shaft weight vs head weight and how it works. Its that simple really, and you cant fail if you go by that. During testing, never mind how much you add, just "take a piece" at the time, and move on until you feel its to much, and then dial back. When done, rip of that lead tape and put it on a gram scale. Since your head has changeable weights, try to add the lead tape where that weight will be during play. If you dont have lead tape, use "what ever" you are able to fix to the head. lots of duct tape might do, even if lead tape is the most handy. ALWAYS pay attention to where you make impact on the face, and how tight that pattern is. A Whiteboard pen/dry erase marker and a DOT on the ball is good, so is foot spray or face labels. Center or the upper 1/3 of the face and away from the heel side. (slightly toe side is good, heel side is bad). Here is link to a complete DIY driver tune up if you never saw it before.

Howard, as always, is spot on. Now, IF you find you need extra weight, the weights are available on Ebay for short money. Get what you need and be happy. I did that with my F7 when I got it. Used lead tape to find out what I needed and just ordered the weight.
