Anyone Still Use This Old S2H2 3 Wood? It's Tiny

I picked up this old S2H2 3 wood. It's super small, even compared to the club it's replacing the Titleist PT17. So far I've only hit it at the range. Feel is great. Trajectory is great. It feels like it spins a ton however.

I like modern 3 woods but they are hard for me to hit off the turf. If I can get 245 with accuracy out of this club I'll be happy.

I played one for years-it was really the 1st 3w I could game with confidence.

They have 3 or 4 lofts - mine has dbl dot

Believe yours is standard 15* & in mint shape ?

They are quite firm feeling with the newer layered balls compared to the old balata of yester year. I get nothing but bullets out of mine nowadays. Old! And you can bet I need a few rounds, to even consider bagging one vs my g400 consistently

They were very popular on tour though.... Couples DL3 Dunakey all bagged this version for years.

Nice. Yours looks like the 13 degree. How does it compare distance wise off the tee and deck compared to your current gamer? What shaft is in there?

I remember that club, it was great. I think they were designed to spin b/c of the balata balls being played at that time.

I'll bet that if you could put a modern shaft into it, you would be very happy with the results (assuming the smaller head doesn't mess with you visually)t

Had the 1 dot pat pending in the bag for almost 20 years. It's still around here somewhere along with the bigger brother, the driver.....those were the days!

Yes I believe you're right. This club goes back to the 80's I believe. It's got an Aldila NV 75 x in it right now. I think that shaft is 10 years old but it should be good enough. Had a nice feel at the range. The small head did mess with me but all shots were pretty good. Can't wait to get on the course.

I also had a PT15 with an X100 because of Tiger back in the day. I could never hit that thing off the deck. It was a beast. The 17 degree wasn't too bad though.

Distance wise I'm about 17yds short carry but it rolls a ton. Played my fav course from '88 not long ago. Still in the same places
