Camillo is far too camp for my liking

Is it just me or Camillo dressing more and more camp? Those yellow trousers were truly nasty and he is starting to worry me.....

What does camp mean?

camp: style that is appealing because it is unappealing, or appealing for ironic reasons etc

a lot of golfers have dressed hideously over the years and a lot still do. It's nothing new. People don't think of style when they think of golf. Very few golfers were blessed with the style gene

First of all, it's CAMILO.

Camp is an interesting word choice. I'm sure you could have been more descriptive. Either way, I don' t think he's any more camp now than he was when he joined the tour. He's always been flashy, and he has the physique to pull it off.

I like the guy myself...goes all out...he's got little to no back off in him...he's good for the PGA Tour. He makes that clothing look good.

I Lilke his style personally. I mean I like the fact that its different and unique. If your a traditionalist then it may not suit your eye too well but I think it looks great. Its his thing...one of his trademarks. People know him for his style and his personality and his work ethic. I personally have no problem with how he dresses and he is a class act guy on top of it. He has the game to back up his vibrant color choices. and he doesnt ALWAYS wear the bright stuff either...he has days that are slightly more subtle, but again its just personal preference. sometimes people give me crap about something i wear here or there or that I match my clothes too much...and its just a personal preference of mine. I dont like to be the quiet guy who looks like everyone else. I like to be different. The steve Stricker style of shirts that come down past my elbow doesnt fit me very well BUT it doesnt bother me when he wears it or anything...thats just his personal preference

Why anyone would start a thread like this is beyond me.

First time I'm hearing the word Camp being used in this manner. I like yellow (gold?) and other bright colors (orange, blues, reds etc), if you got the game then your outfits wouldn't distract.

Imagine Camilo, Fowler, AK and Poulter in the same foursome.

Ahh cmon - Ryo is the new cool kid on the street - none of these guys have a cartoon of themselves on their golf ball and only one of em has a mock up of their head as a headcover..

Agree except AK shouldn't be anywhere near the rest of them. Replace with RI.

The new FT-iZ is too camp for my liking.

In fairness I think the whole over-emphasis on the word "camp" that has appeared in this thread stems from the original posters choice of colloquial language. In England it is a very well known/used phrase and therefore nothing to 'show off about' as was suggested earlier. Just a cultural divide in what words are used for what suggestion...

Ill take pastels pants and big buckles over black pants beige shirt any day.

Camilo is a class act. I liked an analogy I heard the other day about guys on tour are human versions of a Nascar, but I cut Camilo some slack because he's from another country, where bright colors and wierd fashion sense is the norm.

LOL... I like the way he dresses, but i hate the way he caries himself and acts.. Just one of those guys you dont like but you really dont know why.

We used to camp a lot when I was a kid. I always had a good time. Got sick at church camp once, had to go home early.

His clothing matched his bag.

Yellow was a little too loud but it sure fit him alot better than when Sergio wore it during the '05 Open.

My wife doesn't think he is "camp" at all.

I have those pants they're one of my faves.

Why worry about what someone else wears or plays, unless it directly influences you.. He looks good sporting his gear, so get yo swerve on! This is going to go the way of the blades vs GI irons, if you like it-wear it.. If not-dont wear it!

HAHA I would rock clothes that make me stand out, but I feel more comfortable in small rebellion looks like a shirt that stand out or a buckle or a hat things of that nature.

Wahhhh Camilos so good at golf and looks so cool with his huge arms and bright clothes wahhhh Im gonna make a thread about how hes so camppppp

There was an interview with him I saw on SportsCenter and he was talking about where the pants and his quote was "Should I?" I think he is just out there having fun. Even he knows it may not be "stylish" but he laughed about it on the interview and went on. More power to him for wearing something different and having fun with it.

He's not as bad as Poulter, and TGW adds to the fire as well, he now thinks he's a "designer"

there's no way it is VIH-JAY-GISS like the commentators say, It looks more like VEE-YAY-GOSS if its some what latin yeah?
