It's Time to Talk About Jack, Tiger, and Jordan

Spieth is the real deal and his trajectory is very high given his major total at his age.

He's definitely great. But folks said the same thing about Rory a couple years back. You never know how the money and fame will affect their desire to continue to work. Tiger and Jack were ultimate competitors and truly wanted to be the best. Pump the breaks. Let's wait and see if Jordan still has the fire burning 5 years from now.

I think Jordan is a great champion but let's not get ahead of ourselves. If he wins 1/2 as many as Tiger it would be a pretty nice career.

Jack played golf in the right era,

    Tiger was a freak,

and Jordan has neither. He's not a freak and he's playing in an era where there are too many good golfers.

Spieth's ability to scramble and recover give him the ability to win with something other than his "A" game, and to me that's why he's a better candidate than someone like say Rory to win 10+ majors. He's going to find a way to scratch out a few majors even when he's not hitting on all cylinders.

Jordan is Clutch. He may wobble but he has the ultimate grind gear to will himself to the finish. When he needs a shot he makes it, Period.

He is not Tiger or Jack. But he may be the best of his generation and that says a lot.

Brandel called called him the best front runner in golf, currently...

I think the way he won this major will lay any demons of 2016 to rest, if there were any. He now knows that he can recover from a Sunday stumble and finish off a major like a boss. Up until yesterday I would have said maybe a couple more majors, but winning in that fashion will give him such belief and confidence he could now certainly be on a Jack/Tiger career path.

Jordan is in this for the long haul. God willing, he'll be battling on the PGA TOUR for the next 25+ years. He wants to be great, and he is never satisfied.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Jordan come close to a Nicklaus type career. I wouldn't bet on 18 majors, but I would feel very good about 10+.

No its not if he gets half way to either of them he will have done unbelieveably. Start this thread when he has 10 majors which is never.
