2019 Balls?

Has anyone tried the new Callaway ERC soft or Wilson Duo Professional balls?

 

My son is 7 and currently playing the DuoU and loves them but they're like hen's teeth here in NZ now. Heading to Australia to play the US Kids Australian Open in April and need to fill the bag again.

 

Any feedback would be great!

My daughter is 11 and she plays the Titleist Tour Soft. That ball gives her really good distance and a decent amount of check around the greens. I’ve heard good things about the Callaway ERC so we are going to check that one out too.

Limited testing so far with ERC Soft. That ball is a good ball overall, great distance one of the longer ones we have tried. Chipping I noticed pretty good spin for a non urethane bal. Full wedge shots has good bite to it. Not a ton but a little roll out. Haven't testing with full iron shots yet. For reference my daughter is 8. I think this is one of the better non urethane balls out there if you need more spin there are better options but this does spin well considering its cover. She likes the lines to put with a LOT and it makes her line it up so that's always good, and for me it has a good sound and she seems to like that off the putter as well. More testing on our end with other balls to see where it falls.

My 10 yo plays with the ERC Soft and you can definitely tell they stop better than the "distance" balls out there.

We typically use chrome soft good distance and spin around the greens.

Just this week we got a box of TPX5. Verdict is out on them. Seem just as long green reaction not really known only played 1 round

My daughter plays the TP5 and really likes it.

Didn't the President of Callaway just resign over the MyGolfspy cut it open initiative? Callaway balls are very poorly made. Off center cores and walls thinner on certain edges. Either can cause errant shots and they are finding these issues in most of their balls, even the upper end. I don't think Callaway could give away golf balls right now.

I don't think that's why a CEO would leave a company. They shift blame to the manufacturing process, make promises to fix it, appease the masses and move on.

Huh? Something this big is sure to hurt profits in the Callaway ball market. If their balls are this poorly made and the QC that negligent, golfers will start thinking about not purchasing their clubs. (I don't play any Callaway because I have never like any of their stuff) This type of thing threatens the value of the company and shareholders pockets. This is exactly how CEO's get run out of town. Just my .02

Well looks like it will be hard to get him away from the TPX5. He got his 1st ace today with one. 117 yards landed 2 foot in front of the hole and rolled in.

Yes, after trying really hard to liking their ball, we are finally moving away.

Funny. My son is now playing the Chrome Soft. The problem isn't as wide spread as MGS made it out to be. Callaway is also sinking 50 million into the balls to make sure the quality is there.

Our Pro gave my boy a sleeve of ProV1x last week and hes been using them for his last few rounds. Side by side they were on Par with the Wilson Duo Pro for distance and definitely much more spin around the greens, I'd never seen him check one up and spin back on a 3/4 wedge before the weekend! Also this was the best ball for driver for low swing speeds with MGS ball test.
