Torrey Pines South Walk On

Hey All, I'm another east coaster headed to San Diego for a conference in October. Want to play the North Course on my last day. What are the chances of walking on the North Course as a single on a Thursday in October? I should be able to get to the course by 6-6:30 no problem, but fly out at 4PM so don't want to risk having to hang around for more than a few hours.

You should have no problem getting on as a single as long as they don't have a big morning group event, just be sure to check the calendar a few weeks out. If they are over seeding at the time, it's going to play a lot easier if you're a mortal golfer. Don't forget that it is a muni and lots of folks like to walk it, so rounds tend to be slow.

I played this morning. They just started overseeding so it looks brown but its actually in phenomenal shape and the greens are incredible, so fast and so pure. I you want to see some of the changes and new bunkers visit my instagram story for today. These new bunkers are really going to affect the play of the pro's this year and the new upcoming us open.

If I'm trying to walk on the South (First week of June on a Monday or Tuesday), can I walk on as a single anytime between 8am and 11am and be fine to get on? Or am I better off paying the advanced reservation fee? Would prefer to not have to get there at like ~5 or 6am to try to play lol. Thanks

Reviving this old thread. Heading to San Diego at the end of the month and hoping to play Torrey. I know this is hard to judge, but is there any chance of a twosome squeezing in without a tee time on a Sunday? Obviously we'd need to be there bright and early.

Zero. The North won't be back open until lat August. So you have typical South traffic, plus the overflow from North. If you want to play, you'll need to pay advanced booking.

Yuck...$350 to book in advance on a course that is decent at best...smh. I actually preferred the Crossings at Carlsbad to TP but that is my opinion and might be worth a look if you are looking for another course nearby to play if TP South is full.

I was there this past Sunday, and did hear 3 people being called off the waitlist.  No idea how long they had been waiting, but this was around 10am.
