Motore Speeder Tour Spec 6.2

Got a good deal on a Motore Speeder Tour Spec 6.2 stiff. Have had success with Tour AD DI 6 in x flex, and was wondering how the speeder will compare in terms of playing to flex. I am a tweeter at 108-112in swing speed, and struggle with x in some brands and not in others, and have little experience with Fujikura shafts. Thanks in advance for any insights.

SHould be fine. It is a very tip stiff shaft. I swung the 6.2 stiff in an i20. Felt like I couldnt load it quite right and I swing at 105-109. I think you will be just fine.

After using an ad di 6x and moving to a tour spec 6.3 stiff, I noticed the ad di is much stiffer. My 6.3 definitely plays true to flex. Not sure about the 6.2 but is probably similar. I even tipped my tour spec an inch to play to an x and it still isn't as stiff as my ad di was (not tipped). The ad di is so much smoother and that can mask the stiffness but there is a pretty wide gap between the 6.3 stiff and ad di 6x, in my opinion. I swing around 113.

I am on the opposite end as kyleoz17; thought the DI 6X was whippy and spun the ball too much. The TS on the other hand is very stable throughout. The DI has a more pronounced kick at the bottom, but for me personally that cause inconsistency and timing issues. The TS to me is like a true sports car's suspension, very responsive yet rock solid and stable.

I have been playing the Tour Spec both in 7.2 and 6.2 with x flex and find that it requires every bit of your attention. I hover between 107-113 SS and my latest trackman session I was consistent at 108-109 for the entire fitting. That said I have been using the 6.2 x flex with mixed results and just ordered another 6.2 in Stiff to compare. I find that when I am swinging good I can manage the stoutness of the shaft but when I get lazy I am late with my release and lose it left (left handed) or I will over correct and come over the top with the dreaded pull hook. The flight, spin and feel are fantastic and you should be very pleased with the shaft. My recommendation would be to play it long and tip it if needed.

Might be late to the discussion, but I just came off a trackman session with the R1 going between the X and S shafts. I average 120 club speed with about 1 degree (positive) of attack angle. But, at 6"7, I generate my speed gradually, I don't have an aggresive looking swing. I tend to have a slower, smoother tempo (think Ernie Els). I felt the X shaft was just too stiff and couldn't feel it load at transition. The S shaft felt smooth and buttery. I could feel the load in the shaft and found I had much more consistant swings with it. Never in a million years would've guessed at 120 MPH i'd be swinging an S not an X, but sure enough I am. Spin numbers were consistant with both shafts.

Hit a number of other head/shaft combinations during the session, usually in X flex ( Pro Force v2 in a Titliest, Matrix Black Tie in the Covert Tour, Kuro kage Silver in a Cobra) and non of those X flex felt nearly as stiff as the Speeder.
Hope that helps, interested to hear if anyone else had a similar expierence.

I have the Speeder 6.2 TS X in my 3Deep, and it certainly plays true to flex.

I have the AD DI-6X in my driver, and that plays true to flex too, although feels a lot smoother than the 6.2, and launches a little bit higher.

I notice that someone above said their AD DI felt a bit whippy and spun the ball too much... The AD DI is definitely a shaft that needs to be tipped in order to get optimum performance out of it. The first time I tried it I used it untipped and didn't really care for it, but then I got one tipped 1" and it was a completely different animal.

If you're talking about the Tour Spec version, then within the Fuji line the Atmos Black TS is the closest equivalent with the Atmos Red also being very similar, followed by the Speeder Evolution IV. Outside of Fuji there are a few options; Graphite Design AD-TP, Aldila Xtorsion Green/Rogue Silver/Tour Green are somewhat similar. For smoother options, the Tensei Pro Blue and Evenflow Blue are similar as well. Basically the Motore .2 Tour Spec takes the traditional "Blue" profile and beefs it up in a few places which combines the very stiff handled characteristics of the Blue profile with some of the stiffer mid/lower mid characteristics of lower launching profiles. It kinda straddles the line between them a bit, but the very stiff handle and fairly linear loss if stiffness towards the tip is what makes them feel so strong.
