Golf needlepoint belt

Any recs? Saw a Smathers & Branson belt that was pretty nice

not much to add, but I've been eyeing a Houston Astros S&B needlepoint that looks sweet. Problem is they are $$.

Smathers would be the main company making the nicer $100 ones but there are a few companies doing cheaper products around 60-70$

Smathers is my personal favorite. One tip tho - buy the smallest size that fits you when purchasing, as the leather will stretch out almost immediately. I'm starting to run out of holes on mine and on an expensive belt that's a regret.

I'm not finding that. In fact, I've gone up a size in S&B belts because I think they tend to run small.

But, anyway, to the problem you're having, I think you could take it to a shoemaker and have them unstitch the leather from one of the belt ends, trim the belt, and restitch the leather to the belt.

Interesting. Take my advice with a grain of salt then... I had tried on my normal size (32) and found that I was using the first hole and therefore stretching it. So i bought a 34 and after 3 weeks or so of light wearing it I had already moved to the next hole. I could get it shortened but I will likely wait until I have to to do that as I might be better off selling it (it's an exclusive club) and buying another..

when you say you were stretching it with the 32, do you mean you were literally stretching the belt, or 'stretching it' like you were barely making the belt fit? i'm a 32 waist, and found a great deal on a size 32 S&B belt, but it was just a tad small, so if these belts actually did stretch out a bit, it may actually end up fitting.

Barely making the belt fit is more like it. There are five button holes I think and I was using the first or second and I'd like to be in the middle normally. I am a 30 waist and this was with the 32 belt. However the leather itself stretched out after wears on the 34 belt i ended up purchasing and so I am now on the second to last hole already.

Best needlepoint belt around being made by Needle Golf. They are a golf specific needlepoint brand and have some really unique stuff. I’m waiting for their Spring collection to launch and grab some gear. They do limited runs and tend to sell out quickly.

Agreed... buddy of mine got all of us groomsmen JT Spencer’s as a gift. Really hard to tell any difference at all between it and my Smathers (outside of the price tag)

Smathers and Needle Golf belts are hand stitched. JT Spencer, Peter Miller etc are machine made and not needlepoint. Huge difference, a hand made product will always cost more. Needle Golf uses a larger leather strap and buckle than Smathers. Smathers leather and buckle almost feels like a ladies belt so small but stitching is comparable between the two.
