Prov1x yellow vs white

Is there any performance difference (launch, spin, ball speed) between the yellow and white prov1x?

Titleist says they play the exact same. That was part of their mandate when they decided to offer yellow in the Pro V1 models.

I hope Titleist would get it right. But I have never hit one of the yellow ProV’s

 

 

But I have hit the white and the yellow Srixon Z-Stars. Love the Z-Star ball. Hate the yellow Z-Star. Not the same at all

Ball is the same. Paint color is different.

I find no matter what brand, there is a "difference" between the white and yellow.

I play almost exclusively the yellow Titleist AVX now, and find it just a bit firmer than the white AVX. Same with any other white vs yellow ball I've ever tried. The "specs" may be the same, but they just don't have the same texture to me. I have no LM data to support this, but the white always feel softer in the "fingernail test". My game needs less launch/spin, so the AVX is a perfect fit, and the "firmer" yellow seems to spin less than the white for me. I just have to allow for a little extra roll-out on greenside shots, but I play most chips as low to the ground as possible so works perfectly FOR ME. I have not tried the yellow Pro V's since the yellow AVX just fits my game so well.

Play the v1 and no difference in yellow vs. white at all for me in feel or performance.

I've played the Yellow ProV1X since it came out and love the golf ball. There are a lot of players of this ball that swear it is hotter, faster off the face, but TM data debunks this. Titleist delayed the release of the Yellow Pro V-series golf balls because they needed the same performance/same price as the White Pro V-series golf balls; originally the cost of the yellow ball in its early conception cost more to manufacture. The golf ball cover is infused with the yellow color, not painted.

I'm near-sighted and wear corrective lenses (contacts or presrip sunglasses) and the yellow golf ball is MUCH EASIER for me to see down range, plus its just fun for me.

I played the yellow Pro-V1 last year after swearing off Titleist balls for the past 5 years because I felt they were overrated and overpriced. I loved the original Srixon yellow balls - they were the best yellow ball on the market until they switched their cover recipe to Spin Skin. After that, IMO the ball wasn't the same.

Anyway, last year I purchased a sleeve of the yellow Pro-V1 just to assure myself I was still not going to play Titleist golf balls. Well, that failed - I loved the performance, durability and looks. I quickly took advantage of the buy 3 get one free with free personalization.

I have compared the white and yellow and to me there was no discernible difference in performance. However, I feel like the yellow version is more durable than the white. That was one of the advantages with the original Srixon yellow balls, they were one of the most durable golf balls I've ever used.

They play the same, but their composition and process of making them is slightly different due to the yellow. Titleist (and i imagine many of the OEMS) took their time figuring out how to do it. It's the reason why it wasn't a thing for the longest time (that and demand wasn't really there at the time.).
