Clicgear 4.0 push cart reviews?

I haven’t been able to get on the course yet with my push cart but will be my first time this sunday. For those of you who have them what’s your impression of the Clicgear 4.0? When I bought mine the prices weren’t insane like they are now but it seems to be very well made

Don't know what you're really looking for since you already have one but I'll give you my 2 cents.

I currently have a 4.0. I had a 3.5+ that I borrowed out and they loved it so much they just bought it off me and so I got a 4.0 because it's the new updated model.

I wouldn't really call it all that much more improved compared to the 3.5+. I prefer the original straps over the current silicone ones. I don't think they're better but I don't think the silicone ones are worse.

The adjustable top piece is cool. I don't need to use it but I think it's very useful and gets rid of the need for the tour hooks needed in the 3.5+.

The updated silicone piece on the umbrella holder is useless. It looks cool but it's not any better or worse. If you use an umbrella, you're better off buying the adjustable one.

They still don't provide the xl cup holder so you need to buy that.

The 4.0 supposedly has a better lower piece that holds but I have used a sunmountain 3.5ls and a ping hoofer 2019 model and both had zero rubbing issues on the 3.5+ or the 4.0.

The one thing the 4.0 has better is the bungee strap for the top lid part. The silicone strap for the scorecard is equally as annoying as the bungee for the scorecard. Oh the pencil holder on the 4.0? Takes too much effort and time (not that it's a lot) to put it in. Better off just putting it under the big strap with the score card.

 

So there you have it. The 4.0 has changes but I wouldn't call it better nor would I call it worse. If it were me, I would have saved a few bucks and gotten a 3.5+ again but whatevers. It's a cart and it's still a clicgear so it works well.

I personally do not like the foam material they are using for their tires. The tread wears out pretty quickly on rough surfaces. I noticed this on the 3.5+ and they are the same on the 4.0.

I can see where that would be an issue if your course forces you on alot of dirt paths and waste areas and what not.

FWIW I was curious so checked their website and Clicgear replacement wheels are $20 each or $50 for a full set. I went with a basic black 4.0 (arrives Monday, woo hoo!) but would likely get one of the bright colors if/when I need to replace as I like that look quite a bit.

I picked up one of the 4.0 models just after it came out earlier this year. I quite like the silicone bag straps, as they've kept my bag much more snug/secure than other strap systems I've used.

I will agree with a previous comment regarding the silicone strap for the scorecard/pencil. I think it works great for the scorecard, but I've almost given up using the hole for the pencil because of how difficult it is to get in and out.

Dangit! I havent used mine yet and first time I am is going to be Sunday. I got rid of a pocket scorecard holder because I thought the bungee for the scorecard would be useful. I guess I'll just keep the pencil in the little compartment instead. First world problems.

Hi,

Are you guys experiencing any problems with regards to folding and un-folding the push cart?

I’ve had my 4.0 black for a month now and I have to use quite a bit of force and it looks misaligned in the construction in general. I follow the steps for folding as according to the instructions from Clicgear. I upgraded from the 3.0 and that used to be very easy to fold and un-fold. I am in contact with the webshop I ordered it from and they have contacted Clicgear for a possible warrenty.

I’ve used mine for a few rounds now. I really like the way it rolls. But coming from the old junker I had, that’s not surprising. The silicone straps work fine and are easy to fasten. But I do worry about them getting dry and brittle. I’ve noticed the same thing as everyone else on the pencil holder, basically have to use two hands to get it out. Not a huge deal, but it is noticeable. I haven’t used the umbrella holder so can’t comment there. I do think the included cup holder is a joke. C’mon SM, just include the bigger one. It’s nice to have a brake that works.

How small is the cup holder?

It’s very small. Barely holds a normal size water bottle. I doubt the XL would be any better. I have a Hydro flask 24 oz that’s about as round as a Fiji bottle of water and doubt it will fit in the XL so just keep it in my bag

Can sized (12 Oz) . If I put my can in a cozy I have to use both hands to put it back in the holder. My XL holder should be here Wednesday.

One of the other guys I play with has one of the large sized tumblers (the insulated cup),it appears to be quite a bit bigger in diameter than a normal can (although that is just a guess based off a quick glance). It fits comfortably in his. I drink the liter bottles of soda, he thought that would fit.

Guess I should find out pretty soon. I’ll update here after I have it.

My 4.0 arrived today. I needed a second cart (currently have a Caddytek from Costco that I absolutely love that I bought 4 years ago). The Caddytek comes with everything that’s options on the Clicgear — oversized drink holder, adjustable umbrella holder, garment pocket and insulated cooler. And it opens/closes with the push of a button. The Clicgear looks solid for sure, but for the price, it should really come with those things as standard.

I will say though it’s the best constructed push cart I’ve had. Very sturdy and looks fantastic much better than the TGW Players 4 wheel I had. Love that you can buy a bunch of accessories for it, I might want to get a seat for it as my local course has been playing really slow lately

It makes a great pencil holder.

The XL drink holder is deeper, and wider. I have a 24 ounce Takeya insulated bottle (3.25" wide), and it fits fine. The plastic is pliable, so it expands (to a point) to hold the wider containers.

Here are some (poor) pictures for a little bit of comparison.

My Hydroflask is the 40oz model. So pretty good sized. It fits very omfortably. One picture shows the small holder actually inside the larger one. The difference is pretty sizable.

That’s crazy. I have a 16 oz coffee mug. I wonder it that would fit in the small one.

I don’t know, guess it would depend on if it’s a taller, skinnier one. A 12oz can fits pretty much perfectly, but put a cozy on that same can and it was a fight to get it in and out.

fwiw, I bought the Sun Mountain xl cup holder instead of the Clicgear version. The only difference is the price.
