Clicgear 4.0 push cart reviews?

I got the umbrella attachment for mine that can change the angle the umbrella tilts and really like that accessory since I’m taller and already have a tall umbrella it works perfect!

Thanks for posting the comparison pic, very helpful. Just ordered an XL holder, no way that little one will hold a proper Bloody Mary or Transfusion. Plan to keep both holders, the small one for a standard bottle of water and the XL one for swing juice :)

I will agree with a previous comment regarding the silicone strap for the scorecard/pencil. I think it works great for the scorecard, but I've almost given up using the hole for the pencil because of how difficult it is to get in and out.

There’s a slot in the pencil holder, just pull or bend the pencil sideways it comes right out. It’s easy going back in

I have a 3.0 which I've really enjoyed for many rounds.  I played with a guy who has a 4.0 and the "improvements" are unimpressive.  The basic unit and mechanical construction are the same.  I've had the XL cup holder for a long time, as well as the steering knob.

I thought the new adjustable upper saddle was nice, eliminating the need to install the tour kit. I don'y think I'd spend the money to upgrade over a 3.5+, though.

I finally got a chance to take out my 4.0, it felt effortless to push considering what I came from, an old Wilson pull cart. There were times I let it go downhill by itself, or gave it a little push and it rolled at least 10-15 yards. At times I felt like I had a caddy, it was just pure joy.

i finally found one at retail price so i jumped on it. I was actually using a 2 wheel pull cart after the courses reopened around here. Let's just say i'm very impressed with the clicgear over my old option. It rolls pretty effortlessly and feels really solid/well-made. However, my buddy who i play during our AM back-9 rounds has a 3.0 and I can't really say the 4.0 is that much of an improvement. If I had the chance to buy a lower priced 3.5 i think i would get that instead of the 4.0 especially after i found out they pretty much use the same replacement parts and accessories. I also agree with everyone else, at this price point it would've been nice if they at least included the XL cup holder and maybe the adjustable umbrella holder.

I have owned both over the last year. The Sun Mountain is lighter and I like the wheels better than the foam style that the ClicGear uses. I also like the mesh storage that the SM provides. With that being said, the ClicGear is just better made. The tubular frame is far more impressive on the CG. I also prefer the braking system, storage console, the new adjustable top bracket and the handle.  I am still trying to figure out if I like the new straps or prefer the bungee style of the 3.5+. The one thing I wish they would change is the umbrella mount. There is a lot of play in the mount when an umbrella is installed and you are walking. I am afraid the section in which the mount is attach to on the handle my snap on day. Wish GC would just go with the type of of umbrella mount that Bag Boy uses. Small gripe overall. Would go with ClicGear every time however.

So, I just upgraded to the 4.0. Had a 3.0 and the bar the bag sits on always scraped against the ground when opening and closing it which caused the padding to be torn off. Was I just opening it wrong, or is it just the way it is designed? I like to keep my stuff in mint condition and hate to think that this HAS to happen. Especially with the price of these things.

Sorry I missed this.  I ended up returning the clicgear and bought a second Caddytek.  I now have the original Caddytek with the fixed front wheel and the newer model with the swiveling front wheel. Both are great.

I concur with your umbrella holder comment. I cut away the foam on the upper handle and am using a BagBoy holder instead. Not a perfect solution because it kind of takes away the threaded mount, but the holder itself is SO much better than ClicGear’s.

 

I’m also a little annoyed with the upper straps. They’re designed to attach in the middle of the bag which is hard to do with a lot of bags with strap channels.

your umbrella... is it just the picture or it is actually a half-brella?

Just one more vote for the Clicgear 4.0 over the Sun Mountain.  I play with two guys every week that both have them, it's a good product but Clicgear rolls better, brake is better and (IMO) handles better.  Lastly, they can't let theirs roll freely downhill as they both pull hard to the right. I have let my CG roll 100+ yards in front of me downhill and it tracks very straight.  

Quick funny story, our course is very hilly and so I am often letting my CG drift ahead if not roll way ahead of me as I walk.   Our course goes dormant and they paint the fairways in the winter.  I hadn't played for a few weeks so the other day on the first hole, I let my cart go as usual and instead of coming to a stop on the next flat spot like it usually does it just rolled right through, caught another slope, then another side slope and ended up dumping about 200 yards away.... Oops!  Talk about a walk of shame 🤣

That is a OGIO RTC Alpha Convoy. Not sure if they still make it but it fits like a glove and is a larger bag. It’s basically a cart bag with legs. Best bag I’ve ever owned!

Lol It’s a Senz.. Works great in the coastal winds when walking.. Haven’t tried it much on a cart.

That is amazing. Didn’t know about them. As a taller person, one of the issues I have had with umbrellas on a pushcart is visibility in front of me. But I need it to curb the burning sun and the tornado force winds we have in TX. Definitely picking one of those up!

Man, when is the last time anyone saw a 4.0 for retail? The grip on my 3.5 is falling apart and doing that thing where it leaves a gooey black mess on my hands so I guess it's time to upgrade but I've been following for a 4.0 for months and haven't ever seen one in stock somewhere that wasn't being scalped.

 

Any leads?

played here a couple weeks ago and they were out of stock on flags so i went to the website looking for one and stumbled on this.

I picked mine up at PGASS for retail a few weeks ago.  2nd Swing seems to have them at roughly retail prices as well (at least last time I checked).

Is your new one the Costco model?  The reviews from the Costco and other sites were mediocre at best. Would appreciate your assessment.

Both are Costco models.  The first one I got 6 years ago.  It does not have the swiveling front wheel. The one I got last year does have the swiveling front wheel.  I prefer the one without the swiveling front wheel but both are great.
