Most statistically unlikely round you have seen from someone you knew

Chiming in as a member of the "12 GIRs, didn't break 80 club." Did it last Saturday with an atrocious 39 putts. Bad putting day came out of nowhere. Zero signs of the impending doom.

Through #15, I had hit 11/15 greens and was +8 thanks to three 3-putts and a 4-putt (which hadn't occurred in well over a year).

My list

- I once shot 42-30 for an even par in the morning round of a tournament. Followed it up with a 29-40 in the afternoon. Somehow managed to shoot - 3 on the day despite not breaking 40 2/4 nines

- my first ever round of golf in a tournament I was 12 years old and shot 84 (+12) off a 27 handicap for a nett 57. Safe to say I won the nett that day. Took me another year to break 90 again I think

A playing partner of mine shot 68 with 4 greens in regulation once. The crazy part? He only birdied one of those 4 holes that he hit the green. 3 chip ins, one for Eagle, plus the one birdie putt that dropped, and 10/11 up and down on the greens he missed and didn't chip in on... One of the most absurd rounds I've ever witnessed

I used to play every week with a guy who was always upper 80s low 90s. A big group of us went down to Myrtle Beach to play 6 rounds and he shot something like 90-95-100-71-95-100. Nobody mentioned anything during the round to him, but on the 18th green I was like WTF just happened there? He said that maybe once a year he plays like that...

I don't know that these are all that interesting, but...

I once shot 51-36 for an 87, on a course rated 68.4/117. I couldn't do a thing on the front nine, it was just awful. On the back, I was able to remove my cranium from my backside and shot +1 for the nine, with eight pars and one bogey. The lone bogey was from not knowing the course and hitting driver into water I didn't know was there; had I known, I'd have hit an iron off the tee.

Friend of mine, as a 10 index, shot 69 on what is now my home course. Rated 69.4/121 at the time, par 71 (one par 5 on back). He turned at five under, made a double on #14, and birdied 18 for the 69. He's not a long hitter, fights a fade, not a particularly good iron player, but a pretty damm good short game; we call him Egg Beater (yeah, we really did that.... scrambling machine).

Doesn't compete with a no GIR round from a 3 index, or some of the other stories here, but it's about all I got.

The most unlikely round I ever seen it's played by myself, last summer.

I played 3 hcp on a par 72 course.

It was one of those days where nor driver nor irons worked, but chipping and putting were on fire.

Drivers were often hooks/snap hooks and irons went everywhere without control.

First 7 holes I was -2 with 7 putts total, 3 birdies and a bogey.

I three putted the 11th for a double bogey and bogeyed the 12th to go +1.

Finished birdie, birdie, par, for a 71 - 1.

6 birdies, 3 bogeys, 1 double bogey with 50% GIR, 50% fairways and 25 putts.

Played the long game as a 18 hcp and the short game as a +3.

Weird round.
