How many sets do you have?

I have been accumulating a ton of equipment lately. I don't know why. Truly, it's a pretty pointless activity. I have three complete sets of clubs (woods, hybrids, irons, wedges), 4 golf bags (all but one is less than 6 months old), and about 6 pairs of golf shoes less than a year old. I am pretty careful about what I keep, so selling the "keepers" is very difficult for me.

How many complete sets of clubs do you have in your garage?

How do you justify your inventory?

I need to hear from some of the real sickos, so I feel better. :idhitit:

I am a FIRM believer in the "Backup Bag", as well as having some rotational clubs. Some people have MUCH more (chime in, fellas!), but aside from my playing set - here's what I have extra:

1 spare Driver

1 backup set of 3-PW irons

1 backup pair of Wedges (56*/60*)

2 additional putters

3-4 shafts lying around waiting for clubhead homes

1 Staff/cart bag to hold all this stuff

A few dozen balls

Several gloves, tees, and other stuff in a storage box

Several grips for clubs and putters.

That's about it - I don't tend to collect too many extra clubs. However - I've seen threads like this with some guys who have a veritable golf store inventory at their houses!

I may have a "problem", but I know I am not alone! I just LOVE golf equipment - especially putters!!

When you can go in ANY golf store in your town, and they all know you by name, they put stuff "in the back" to show you next time you are in, etc. - you are in trouble! (Especially when your dad ALSO owns one of the local shops!)

Fortunately, I'm a poor college kid (though I'm graduating in spring) so I don't have too many clubs. I have a full set of Titleist 990 (1-PW). I sold off my 5 year old Vokeys and am currently replacing them with rac Blacks. I bought a 983E and am trying to sell my 975J. I'm buying a 904F to replace my 13* PT but I don't think I'm going to sell my PT because I won't get enough money from it off ebay.

I used to be much worse than I am now.

I am down to: 10 sets of irons

20 Drivers

15 Putters

15 Fairway clubs

25 Wedges

4 Hybrids

15 Bags

and headcovers, balls, divot tools, umbrellas, you name it, I have too many of it. Like i said, two years ago, those stats were at least double what they are now. Now I just buy what I might play, before I would buy every product from every company every year, it was really bad.

LOL! So you wanna hear from Dumpster???? :cheesy:

I used to be bad about ho'ing and hoarding my clubs, had about 15-20 perhaps more sets of irons at one time earlier this year.

Now, I have 4 sets of irons, looking to sell 2 of them

about 5-8 modern drivers if you don't count about 5 old persimmon driver that I like to mess around with once a while on range.

10-15 wedges

about 10-15 putters, used to have about 100 putters

I had a nice club rack that was full of clubs but sold the rack since it's no longer needed.

Gees. I have as many iron sets as the Dumpster! You do have me outclassed in the drivers, wedges and putters.

That's it. I am done for 2005. No more clubs until January 1!!! :cheesy:
