I just bought a nice new set of forged irons. I wont resort to iron head covers to keep them from getting dented to hell. Looking at bennington quiet organizer bags, ogio silent bags, and bagboy revolver. Some of these options are highly expensive though.

Opinions?

I have the BagBoy revolver LTD (2016) Best $200 I've spent for golf that didn't include some sort of club purchase.

Just trying to figure out how to remove one of the putter clips. No one has been able to show me yet.

I am going back and forth between the ogio silencer and the bagboy revolver. I love my current bagboy bag, but need something to keep heads from getting screwed up.

My hesitation on the revolver is that I read some reviews that say the club comes unclipped.

Havent heard much negative on the ogio silencer other than it can be a hard getting the clubs in and out of the bottom carriage.

I have ruled out the bennington, as the bottom looks so small it would fall over when not in the cart.

Bagboy Revolver is hard to beat but I'd like to see a Bennington quiet organizer

I use the Revolver. Key to it's use is to push the club down into the slot to engage the grip lock feature. Even if the clubs come unclipped at the top they still won't flop around very much.

I have a Bennington that is amazing at protecting the irons. I don't use it anymore only because it's so tall. I'm short so taking clubs in and out was exercise lol

Sorry guys, I'm not sure about the midsize grips. I suspect yes but have never tried.

On the Revolver, does the grip lock feature in the base accommodate midsize grips?

I hope so because I just ordered one and I have midsize grips.

I had a Revolver a few years ago and the grips almost feel like they sit down in a small divot. Even if the grips aren't in the perfect spot the shaft locks at the top work very well.

I can do a trial for you guys later today using a midsize grip in the Revolver. Someone shoot me a PM as a reminder if I forget.

Many guys with the Revolver don't know the griplock feature is present. There is no mention of it when you purchase the bag. If you just drop the club down the slot the feature will not be activated. You have the press the club down into the hole...only you have to find just the right spot for the grip. Don't just go hammering on the club, you have to fiddle with it and get the right position first. It takes some learning to get the right spot every time. Regarding the notches in the top holding the shafts, that works too, but depending on the diameter of your shafts the clubs may come unclipped.

Hold the bag next to your kitchen counter with the putter clip above the counter. Push down and it will click right off. Don't worry, you won't break it.

Tried a midsize grip tonight and the Revolver griplock feature works perfect. In fact, it seems to hold the club better than a standard size grip. That may be because my bag is getting worn out though, not sure.

I have a Bennington Quiet Organizer and have used it for a couple of seasons. There is no doubt that it holds your irons in a position so you will have NO beating and banging around. This part works perfect. It has plenty of pockets and is well made.

Here are a couple of cons as far as I am concerned. It is a heavy bag. The bag is taller than the average bag by quite a few inches. The only issue with the length of the bag is that the cart straps on all the golf carts are designed for bags that are shorter. The straps will work except they are angled up to reach the strap slots on the bag and it's difficult to tighten the strap because of the height difference.

With all that being said, I really like the bag and am not looking for another bag to replace it.

Once again, it really protects your iron heads and it is a heavy bag.

Also, someone in a post above was concerned about it falling over. There is NO issue with that. I have stood it up on the driving range with a 10-15 mph wind blowing and it was solid as a rock (because it is so heavy).

All subject to change in the blink of an eye.........and I blink a lot.

I've also got a Bennington Quiet Organizer. It's been terrific at keeping the clubs in place with no chatter or damage.

It is taller and heavier than most bags, but I've had no issue strapping it into a golf cart for charity tournaments. And for my competitive rounds on the weekend, it works great with my ClicGear 8... although the added weight is noticeable, in comparison to pushing around my Sun Mountain 3.5 bag.
