Hm...spent $400 on my X2 Hots, $80 on my FT-9, $90 on my hybrids, $80 on my two extra wedges, and $20 for my Tuttle. $45ish on my bag, I think.

Driver: Nike Vapor Pro ($100)

Fairway wood: Callaway XR 3 and 5 ($150)

Irons: Callaway 2013 X Forged ($300)

Wedges: Trusty Rusty's ($150)

 

There's plenty of things that are interchangeable out there for that list, but I'm a big fan of the irons, especially at a 10 hcp. They offer more than enough room to grow, feel fantastic, and are as forgiving as you'd realistically need.

 

Another suggestion on wedges would be the MPT-R12's (Mizuno's). Such incredible feeling wedges.

I got my GBB Epic SZ with coupon from Dicks and rewards about $400.00

 

Mizuno JPZ 900 Hot Metal Irons traded my old irons and some misc. clubs paid $250.00

 

My bag is all set for 2017, as I already sold the Epic to my brother for $350.00 plus a round of golf, went back to my old GBB. I may look for another putter, but that's it.

My updated bag is coming together. So far, I got a ridiculously good deal on a set of MP-25's and T5's for $450. So that gives me $300 for a driver, 3w, and (hopefully) hybrid.

I'd go to your local golf discount store, and buy only clubs that they have in the back of the store away from the current models. You can find perfectly good clubs to fit you that are brand new, just a couple years out of date. Ping, Taylormade, Titleist, Cobra etc. all mark down their stuff when its not current, but they are still fine sticks.

You could grab the Golf Digest "Hot List" 2015 equipment issue and build almost any set you want for $750 (likely with money left over). Most of my gear is bought 2-3 years old for that reason.
