Golf channel salaries

They are not making peanuts. If what they make is posted then there will be a great fire storm about who makes what, do they deserve it... on and on. Let this go. Not being mean, but e-mail NBC and ask them.

About 5 years ago Nick Faldo was in one of those "what do they make" articles in Golf Digest/Magazine. That year (2008ish) he was paid something like $970,000 for his work for Golf Channel's tour coverage (I know it was over $900,000 and under $1M).

Edit - I can't remember now if that was just Golf Channel or if it was combined pay with CBS.

The money can't be all that great. If it was you wouldn't have Kelly Tiglhman, Brian Hammons, Charlie Rymer, etc. It ain't gonna take a lot of incentive to replace this inept group.

The question for me is how much they paying that stupid, 6'4" Beaver Cleaver, Charlie Rymer.

Who knows. My cousin married a local TV guy and I was shocked how little he made. They moved around from Arkansas to Texas to finally Miami and after a few years gave it up to be a stockbroker....all because of the money.

It begs the question - are the Morning Drive folks On Air Reporters and Commentators or On Air Talent? Quite a huge difference in salary between the two.

I think it's pretty safe to say the MD hosts are the Talent (although I wouldn't use that term to describe any of them). I would think the reporters and commentators are those guest reporters who are on site at whatever event.

Personally, I think the salaries seem about right. If GC paid more, surely they could come up with a better lot.

It looks like the site only took a sample of salaries. It's possible that Kelly's was not one of those in the sample.

This is a Golf Discussion Board and these are major voices on a television channel dedicated solely to golf -- why WOULDN'T anyone be interested in the economics of that business? (If you're not, feel free to move on.) After all, it's common knowledge -- through his well-publicized divorce proceedings -- that Jim Nantz of CBS earns around [b]$7 million per year.[/b] Of course, that's the lead broadcaster on a major network who calls NFL football and NCAA basketball as well as golf.

I thought Golf Digest mentioned the salary of former Golf Channel anchor Kraig Kann (before he left for the LPGA) to be in excess of $300,000. If so, you can bet that Tilghman is in that same ballpark, if not significantly more. Others.... who knows?

I don't think they could make a large amount. No more then 200,000. What leverage do any of them have, besides Faldo or any major winner. Holly Saunders ask for more, they just go out and get another pretty golfer. Would anyone miss anyone on the golf channel if they left? The real star is golf itself

plus the perks, is decent cash for sure
but they put in some hours for it, especially the MD crew
