What about matching putters? We could order headcovers to match our favourite team.

I played a match against a chap that used that exact putter .. I kid you not

I'd vomit from this thread if you weren't all so damn nice. Plus, Canada's on the not-so-naughty list for this guy now that we got our first official Tim Horton's. Now if only you guys would quit spelling 'favourite' and 'theatre' so goofy and understand a basic road system south of the border we'd be in business.

Based on our QC talent winning almost all of our medals in Sochi, I understand the cut of his jib and his crafty maneuvering

Wait a sec...I can't defect until after Friday's Canada - US hockey semi-final.
You should get on the train early and move north of the border. Didn't you see the lickin' we put on Latvia today?
Um...er...yeah. Lickin. Almost just like the lickin the Russians put on the Fins. Heads will literally roll.

PD...if you're driving to Brazil, stop by Chicago and pick up your old father.
Can we pick up Sean2 and his mother on the way. We could make this a family love fest. Make up for lost time.

True Canadian Story: I am teaching my last class of the day and I marshal my students to escort them to the computer lab on the second floor of the school. I pass a colleague's classroom and hear a ruckus. I peer in the room and he has the game broadcast on the overhead screen. There's a minute to go. I quietly usher my students into the back of his classroom and we watched the final seconds of the game together. A truly Canadian moment.
They put up the games on a massive projector at my company. My company is fairly conservative overall and is quite large, but it's a Canadian based firm. No one will question you for being away from your desk during the game....it's almost expected.

Even the people at their desk are watching on their Iphones.

I was on a call when Canada scored the second goal and had to ask them to call them back, because of the noise

Hard to explain what hockey means to Canadians

I don't know any French...well, I won't admit that I know any but doesn't that word mean...well, let's just say that's the word you'd use when a perfectly hit drive hits a sprinkler head and goes 90 degrees to the right into the water?

But Quebec women are second to none. I will argue that with every fiber of my being LOL

Tim Hortons is amazing, it's one of the best things we've done as a country. Wide range of food, open 24 hours, reasonably priced, good coffee, donuts....When you go to Canadian airports people will wait in line 30 minutes for Tim Hortons even though there is another coffee shop right next to it. It's almost a cult....i don't get it, and i refuse to wait long for anything. But i love Tim Hortons LOL.

Canadians can be too nice sometimes LOL. Me and my wife watch a lot of the Canadian reality shows (mostly the cooking ones, they have a MasterChef Canada and etc...copies of the Gordon Ramsey version in the US....or a handyman challenge)....and you watch the interviews and you're like "THERE'S NO CONFLICT!!!!!"

LOL, people are like "Well i want to win....but it sucks because if i advance it means someone else goes home...and that's not fair"

Haha....Canadians

99 and Orr would be the gimmes.

After that the discussion gets a bit more interesting. Lemieux was talented but soft. Who knows what his career might have turned into if he hadn't had the health issues, but the fact remains he only played 900ish games.

I'd nominate Howe or Mess for the third spot. Both incredible point producers, unrivaled leaders, tough as nails, astonishing longevity and they won multiple cups.

CBC's Greatest Canadian television series settled this dispute once and for all in 2004. Here was the list, as voted by the Canadian public (we hold plebiscites to discuss such controversial topics):

1. Tommy Douglas - NDP leader, "founder" of Canadian healthcare system.
2. Terry Fox - Cancer activist who died during an attempted cross-country marathon.
3. Pierre Trudeau - Liberal Prime Minister of the 70s and 80s.
4. Dr. Frederick Bantin - Inventor of Insulin.
5. David Suzuki - CBC nature show host, environmentalist.
6. Lester Pearson - Prime Minister - "founder" of modern peacekeeping.
7. Don Cherry - CBC hockey commentator.
8. Sir. John A. MacDonald - Canada's first Prime Minister.
9. Alexander Graham Bell - purported inventor of the telephone.
10. Wayne Gretzky - Hockey player.

If you wish to view a list of the top 100 Canadians of all-time: http://www.filibuste...t Canadians.htm

My top three would include Terry Fox, Tommy Douglas, and my former highschool history teacher (trust me he was that good).

Given our interactions in these Forums I believe this quote to be most appropriate:

Whether the borders that divide us are picket fences or national boundaries, we are all neighbors in a global community. ~ Jimmy Carter

The PeanutsDaddy and Jimmy are more alike than you may think cardoustie:

Well, you know, I had been a peanut farmer. I had - you know who was the first president - Democratic president I ever met? Bill Clinton. ~ Jimmy Carter.
