RIFE Barbados-Wow!

Just thought I'd share...To my surprise, my Rife Barbados showed up on my doorstep a few weeks early. This things rolls the rock smoother than anything I've ever tried. If you are a mallet lover, this is definitely worth looking at.

I Really like it too. It feels so good off the face and it has amazing distance control. I also really like the grip and headcover.

I used to have the Rife 2 bar and kept leaving putts short. The head felt too soft to me. Does the Barbados have a soft feel also?

My 34" Barbados just arrived. To me it looks completely closed by at least 4 degrees! What's the deal with that? Anyone else experience that?

 

Also, I thought it came with the lie-align system. Mine certainly didn't. Very disappointed all round.

Where did you buy from? I bought from Rife and got the align system.... Mine does not look closed at all.

 

And I still think it putts very well. Played 9 the other day and there were a few one puts and a few 2's. not a sing 3 putt. Yeah - it's olny 9 holes, but my line and speed were dead nuts on. Is it me or the putter?? Well - who knows....

I bought it from TGW.com. It also feels kind of dead on impact. I think the loft might be out. Oh well, will think about sending it back.

That's definitely odd because mine feels pretty hot on impact. Also, mine is not closed at address at all. Got mine on ebay and it didn't come with the align system. I could use a little adjustment to the lie, but I've been wary to bend the shaft as of yet because I might not be keeping it.

The Barbados does not come with the align system like the 2-bar does.

I purchased a Barbados also and immediately got rid of it. I thought it felt dead at impact and it looked closed. I putted with it and really wanted to like it, but couldn't get past the feel or the closed look. I basically traded it for a 2-ball SRT XG and never looked back.

The feeling off this putter is horrid. It is very easy to lineup but it just feels like a brick at impact.

We got a barbados among other Rife putters in the shop recently, and I can't stop putting with it. I have a 2 bar blade on the way, and depending on how that works the Barbados may be next in line. Great feel and looks IMO, and I believe it did come with an alignment bar thing, I believe it can be bent +- 2 degrees.

the new line of rife putters are just absolutely beautiful...heard a rumor that david whitlam of whitlam golf is milling these heads for guerin rife...if he is milling them,guerin rife definetely picked the right man!

and some guy from across the pond named Poulter. Got a brand new barbados off the bay a few weeks back for $50 shipped. It was 33.5 which I'm guessing is why no one else bid on it. Turns out it was a golf shop selling it so they offered to extend it to 35" for me for the price of a fresh grip. Sweet deal, even sweeter roll on the ball. Only problem is alot of the greens I play are slow, so 2 degrees of loft doesn't work out too well, either have to get it bent or stick to my NP2 (been thinking the latter)

I thought that is where this putter performs the best is on slower greens? I have a Abaco & Yes Dawn i really like the look of the Abaco but my issue is the weight. I don't want to add lead tape but it needs to be a little heaiver .335 is not workign for me.
