TM Superquad's from China (heads-only) on ebay

Anyone heard of any problems?

There seem to be a lot of TM Superquad head only auctions on ebay lately. Sorry I don't have a link to provide right now, nor ebay ID's?

There seem to be at least 3 different sellers from China all using the same (or very similar) selling templates and item description verbiage. Some of the normal sized pictures in the auctions don't match up with the pictures when you "supersize" them but that could be the image hosting services' fault and not the seller.

One seller has over a 100 transactions and approximately 99.5% feedback, one has 98% feedback but "private" for the number of tranasctions and the other has less than 20 transactions with 100% feedback.

I'm leary of bidding on these but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience dealing with any of these sellers. Several things have me paranoid but am I over-reacting or are these deals really legit?

Any help would be appreciated.

I would bet a large some of money those head only's from China are fakes. I've seen alot of those and they look real but I highly doubt they are. If you want to buy one and then call TM with the serial to see if it's real go ahead.

That is because TaylorMade won't sell them to dealers as a head only... another reason to be highly suspicious of any new head sold sans shaft. It almost certainly didn't come from TaylorMade.

Pick up this months Golf Digest. There is an article in there about heads made in China. They could be real but I would not take the chance unless you have money to throw around. Look at page 210 on issue April 2007/ vol. 58, No.4. The title is "Made in China". I would also contact Taylor Made and make them aware of these auctions.....

I hope this helps, or at least gives you a foot to stand on....

That is not always true... while I agree anything from China is almost certain a fake there are many people who get equipment from taylorMade dealers in bulk and part it out themselves on the net. I myself have sold many taylormade parts from units all procured from legit sources with zero problems.
