For steel shafts just yank em off with your hands....sometimes I will use my foot to hold the head and just yank the shafts.....why do you have a puller for steel?

 

Nice invention why can't it be modified for graphite?...

Well, I ordered one so that I could use it to pull graphite shafts & adapters if necessary... so hopefully it will do so.

Absolutely for graphite. I only did that first test with steel. Everything else I've done with it is graphite. It definitely wouldn't make sense to build a shaft puller for steel shafts, lol.

Very cool!!! I just spent $100 on one from eBay with a bottle jack. Used it once so far, works well, but it should for that kind of money!!! Love your idea.

Does anyone have a video of this in action? I'm having a hard time understanding what holds the shaft in place as you apply pressure. It looks like the shaft clamp is on the outside of the device.

I'm going to be removing a shaft later today. I'll try to get a video.

So of course when I need to take a video, I use a stubborn club that sat in my freezing garage all night. The epoxy took longer than normal to loosen up, so I had to apply a little more heat and pressure than normal, but the job got done. You'll just have to trust me that it's normally a much smoother process, lol.

not to rain on your parade but if u have the epoxy sizziling on a graphite shaft pulled then it is highly possible u can ruin the pulled shaft but if u dont care for the pulled shaft then its fine , low heat is the only way to save a pulled shaft, im only stating this so people that have no idea dont go out and do this and ruin 100 dollar shafts thinking its ok for the epoxy to sizzle to pull it , but i do understand u were trying to do a video and etc.

Good point. When I was thinking about the sizzle, I was thinking about the broken shaft I was pulling today (which I normally would have done by hand if I wasn't trying to make a video). You're 100% correct about that. I usually let the heat travel through the metal more than I did in the video (because of time). I should have heated it some before I started the video.
