Nike Tour Accuracy

Oh my goodness... The feel of these golf balls around the green are amazing. On approaches I see more spin than Pro V1Xs as well. My dad used to play them back in the day because they were cheaper than Pro V1s and had a ton left over. I took about 2 dozen of them and I just might start playing them. Anyone else have experiences with it?

That's a great ball, my buddy swore by them, the green box ones I think were the better ones. There was also a red box but not sure what the difference was.

The Nike Tour Accuracy I recall came out before the ProV1 - over 10 years ago. Haven't seen one of them in years.

Nike had a ball out back then that was a tour DD. I'm not sure if that was a David Devall ball or if it stood for distance and durable. All I know is I hit some good shots with that DD ball. Had just the right feel with decent spin and distance. I remember playing one for like 54 holes.

Yeah they had a TW and DD model for the top 2 of that time.

Yeah, the TW would be like a platinum and Pro V and the DD was a like a black and Pro V X.

I think the TA was the first ball that was solid and not wound.

YOu used to be able to get these at Sam's Club back in the day for dirt cheap.... DD was my favorite Nike ball at the time.

The Top Flite Strata was the first multilayer performance ball in 1996. The Nike TA and Titleist ProV1 didn't debut until 2000.

The TA was the first non-wound ball I played in a tournament. I remember it well. High school match, my teammate bugged me to buy a sleeve and play them instead of the Professional 90 I was playing at the time.

First shot I ever hit with it was on the first tee.

...haven't played a wound ball since. Those were really good balls. I miss those and the original One. Do any of the current Nike offerings compare similarly?

Those were the "stuff" .... I remember being pretty pumped to find a Strata "spade" in the rough or woods.

Good balls...I liked their successor, the TA2 LNG and SPN. They were made by bridgestone (assuming the orginal TA was as well) and had similiar dimple in dimple technology as you see in the current Bridgestone line. I wish I still had some of the LNG, one of my favorite balls ever.

The TW came out after the tour accuracy and was noticably harder and lower spinning. The TA was a rebadged Precept Tour Premium as Bridgestone were making Nike balls back then. The TA/Tour Premium is the spinniest ball I've ever played. I used to spin them back 20-30 feet regularly. I could actually spin them back uphill on soft greens. Probably not as good an all rounder as current balls, but man were they fun to play with.
