IM OUT!!! Darn it!! I had a moment of weakness today. I found myself in the golf store today with money in my pocket and found a near mint demo 56* c grind Vokey SM4 for $60 and I buckled under the pressure and caved. Had it bent to 60* so I can try it with my classic titleist wedges. Sorry boys I did my best, I can't believe I made it this long honestly lol. Good luck to the remaining 3, PD, G64 and Nuggets :)

AND THEN THERE WAS 3!!!

Well I took my wife over for her first ever round of sim golf tonight, she was a real trooper and battled through 7 holes before retiring for the evening. She hit some good shots including a 120y drive and some bad ones. I was having a hard time finding the sweet spot between trying to help her too much and not helping enough. But she had fun and wants to do it again so that is the main thing :)

My round was a different story, we played a short course around 6500y in an attempt to make it easier for my wife. The round started of great with a gimme birdie after a nice drive and 2nd shot, I was hitting the ball as well or better then I ever have tonight and continued having a decent round until 15, then I noticed my score and it all went to $#!%. It was like I lost all control of the clubhead, I couldn't close the face to save my life in those last 4 holes. Like everything I was doing so well all night just evaporated into thin air. The golf gods givith, and the golf gods taketh away. Propserves me right for buying a club today. But still, -4 going into 15 and finish with a +1, just brutal lol, who knew you could be unhappy with a 73?? Lol

hey my condolences to you Pigems.... I've bought a bunch of clubs lately and refused to announce anything here so I wouldn't be a stumbling block to anyone.

That is until today...... I figure all you club ho's love a good impulse buy and just had to share.

I've been looking for a solid older cobra putter (Bobby Grace made cobra putters decades ago) to fill out my all cobra bag. Then all of a sudden... bam!! .... in the BST is a cobra prototype like the one Poults used a few years back. Only a few of them were ever made.... all went to touring pros. I bought this one off a touring pro.

The first pic is after warming up pre round, the second is the same sticker after 18 holes. I choked up on my driver the entire time tonight and sacrificed little to no distance and gained much accuracy. She's getting trimmed, it's confirmed now. :)

very cool. I didn't know impact paper existed. I just use a little masking tape haha
That's what I used before and it works too. The stickers definitely cool stuff though and easier to see impacts, and not expensive either for what you get out of it. Nice find on the Putter sir :)

Pigs,

I figure the more times we put ourselves in the position to 'go low' the more comfortable we should feel (in theory ; ). Ultimately, your swing got you to that point on 15 so their is nothing to think that you don't have the capabilities to finish off the round.

It's sad that we can have a career day and still walk away with a sour taste in our mouth. Focus on the positives of the round.

Also, fabulous that your wife was able to join you this evening.

Pigs,

welcome to the land of sub-45" drivers. I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised. I've found that I've given up little (to no) yardage and dispersion has definitely improved. I thought it would take me some time to get used to the 'watermelon' on the end of the driver shaft, but the club head didn't look any bigger than usual.

What I actually got today in the mail! I actually loved the jetspeed line from this year unlike most people. Tour issue 3 wood head on a great deal now just to decide on that safe to put in it.

thanks PD. No idea what the specs are. I bought blind.... If I can't roll it consistently it'll go on the wall.

The only numbers I have on it are the price I paid! Was only used for a practice session. I've played everything from mallets to blades so I'm hoping I can adjust to it

I strongly prefer my driver to play to about 44 1/2." My tee balls are markedly more consistent at this length.

Pigems, chin up, and remember the things that helped get you to that 4 under. It sounds like you were distracted in a good way, before you noticed where you stood. Remember that. ;)

What do you like about the Jetspeed fairway? In looking at your signature I notice that the driver slot is absent, any club on the horizon or do you carry a 3 wood as your primary club off the tee?

Your completely correct PD, I sacrificed basically no distance tonight. I still averaged 245y I think with a few bombs scattered in there that were a pleasant surprise :)

OK I can't lie, a couple of them where downhill :D

I 100% agree sir, the more often we are in a situation, the more comfortable you will be in that situation next time. It's only a matter of time now :)

I will thoroughly enjoy my 73 in a day or so when the sting wheres off lol, there were a lot of good shots in that round to look back on. I even hit a couple small draws on purpose. I was playing the ball a little closer to me tonight with every club and it seemed to help. I was also focusing a lot of my release of the club tonight, I don't think I had one before lol. But i can really notice a difference in how my swing feels when I do it correctly and how well I hit the ball, especially with my driver and fairways.

It was great to have her play with me tonight, I can't wait until she gets a little better so she can enjoy it more. She got a little frustrated tonight at times which was understandable, she thought golf was easier than it is :)

The 440 head looks better with a choked up grip actually, it looked a little small holding the club at full length. I think I'll like it better shorter.

When I was able to properly release the clubhead the way I wanted to tonight I was seeing a straight to slight draw shape which is something I'm unfamiliar with myself, but I really liked it. Even with my irons I was seeing the same thing. When i didn't get the release right it was the usual moderate to hard fades and low hooks when I over did it. ut man does my swing ever feels nice when I get it right, I didn't even know I wasn't releasing the club until I did it by accident my last time at the range and felt how good it was and how well the ball flew. Since then I've been focusing almost solely on that in my basement practice.

At least two of those drives were 35+ foot downhill off the tee :D

Sir, if your 440cc head looks significantly bigger simply by choking up, you possess a vision gift with which I am not familiar :D

Congratulations again on the great play!
TYVM sir. It's not a significant difference by any means, just ever so slightly noticeable. Most likely due to my work history, I've been doing construction work for around 15 years now and have a pretty good eye at this point. But it's probably just in my head lol :)

I am tinkering wit that subbing in and out trying to find the one that will stay right now I am switching between the jet speed with the covert 2.0 pro. The jet speed 3 wood just launches at a perfect flight for me with piercing distance. I play a high ball flight and the jetspeed woods and hybrids balance it out perfectly.

Got to somewhat empathize with my man Pigems. Very few golfers avoid changing clubs more than myself but I fully admit the odd wedge here and there always catches my eye. Something about more bounce - less bounce - worn out grooves on aging wedges - finding one that fills some yardage gap.... and there they sit calling our names.... tempting us like a freak'n hooker by the sea shore - LOL.

Now I'd venture a guess if you returned it....

You'll need to get "Diabolique" stamped on that bad boy. A horn on either side of the word wouldn't hurt, either.

Or, you could name it "Christine," but that didn't work out for the nerdy guy in the movie.
