Someone mentioned it in either this thread or the other nike mega thread and was kinda raked over the coals but in looking at the three sets at golftown again the other night there were definitely issues with the paintfill on the PC and the Pro irons. Very very shoddily done on both sets.

Haha. That is funny. Unfortunately for me it is the only real store besides pro shops that sell golf equipment in my area. Even when they had the PGA "Pros" working there it wasn't any better.

Oh well, I already have my PC with Recoils coming soon, I just was wanting to hit them.

Hit the pro and pro combo today. Just hit the 6 irons of each. Felt good. I liked the feel of the pro better... best way I can explain the feel is it just felt more solid. Both were good. I felt like the distance was similar to my Wilson FG Tour V2s. I wasn't blown away or anything. To be fair I haven't hit a ton of different irons so I don't have a huge basis for comparison.. Square it up and its going to feel good. I was missing left with the pro combo until I made an adjustment for the offset. I can't find the offset specs on my Wilsons right now, but the pro 6i offset is .085" and the pro combo 6i offset is .140". Either way, both were good. I preferred the pro. I'm pretty excited to try the drivers but those weren't in yet.

This may be a dumb question, but I'm no chemist: does the PVD material on the back of the vapor irons require a different painting method/mixture for adherence? I've never noticed any sort of "coloring outside the lines" with other clubs, but then again, I've never really looked. Maybe the volt on black is drawing eyes to it more than the typical black or blue on chrome/satin of other clubs? I plan on heading to check out the irons this weekend, will note if there are some paint issues...

The paint is a little sloppy every now and then, but heck my AP2's have the paint in the numbers peeling off and it doesn't bother me so neither will this.

I stopped by Golf Galaxy today, and asked about the Vapors guy told me they had the irons, but they were in the back. He said I will bring one out, he brings out the 6 iron, and wont let me hold it, says we cannot put these out until Monday. I told him today was the release day, did not do any good. I already ordered my set, I bought a few things and was curious when I did not see the Vapors on display.

I am surprised that .03" threw you off that much. Most players irons have an offset around .110. The Vpros actually have an extremely low offset at .085. Really not trying to call you out, just surprised that you had to adjust your swing. The V2s are a phenominal iron though, will be tough to get those out of your bag.

I was trying to find the offset on the Wilson when I was posting. Still haven't found the numbers... do you have them? Just going back and forth between the two Nikes, I definitely preferred the pro offset though. Just "fit my eye" better. Also, the adjustment was more in my setup than with the swing. Balls weren't taking off left, just straight pulls that needed to be aimed better.

Vapor Speeds are nice, should have gotten one in a 4 iron.

I don't have the numbers but I did look up Titleist CB (.110), Mizuno MP64(.114), and Ping S55(.100) which is where I was getting my numbers from. If you include the Ping i25(.130) and Mizuno MP54(.130) then the .140 doesn't seem that far off from what I can only image the V2s must be. I did have a set of them though, fantastic irons.

I can see where going from .085 to .140 might look like an extreme amount of change though since it is nearly double the offset.
