greatest golf deal of my life

I was at golf galaxy yesterday with my friend who was picking up some new grips and i was in there just looking at the new gear and hitting whatever i felt like, and then when we go to check out, right in front of the check out counter, there is a large table of golf balls, i figured they would be cheapos but oh my god, the sign says titleist granZ golf balls $15 a dozen, i grabbed a bag and filled up 2 dozen, i thought that the granZ's were the expensive japan only golf ball, so i had to check when i got home and sure enough $88 a dozen on the tourspecgolf.com heres the link to confirm Titleist GranZ so what happened was that i picked up 2 dozen for a total of $32.53, so i will be back at my local gg today to clean em up, these are amazing and a steal, i cant believe it, somebody screwed up big time, i love it :russian_roulette:
anyone think this is a good deal or any other golf galaxies selling for so cheap?

every golf store is cleaning them out.... they have been for months. Not a bad ball but not great! You have o remember the Japan golf rules with equiptment. Not a bad ball but not anything to run home about..... play them before you buy more!

i played 27 with them yesterday and couldnt be happier! they just flat work for me, the spin perfect for my game and feel just as soft as i want em, i guess its just the ball for me, but still from $88-$15 a dozen, you cant pass that up

Still $15 a dozen man...don't let these guys chop you down. If you feel they are a great ball and work for you, you can't beat that deal with a stick! I can't think of any ball I'd hit even at $25/dozen.

Yeah.. its a decent ball.. Golfsmith had them last year for 9.99 a dozen.. from the bin..

Here's the real story about the GranZ ball:

 

0:18 – GolfWRX: Okay, many readers have seen the Gran-Z golf balls from Titleist Japan. Where does it fit performance wise in the US line? Is there an equivalent product in the US market?

 

0:33 – George Sine: For those of your members that aren’t familiar with the Gran-Z, maybe just to give you a quick background on that,. The Gran-Z was introduced exclusively in Japan in March 2006 to compete in the emerging premium distance category which is unique to the Japan golf market. It’s a segment that represents in excess of one million dozen annually in Japan – and what this product resembles as it relates to our worldwide product offerings is probably NXT – very low spin on all shots from tee through green. It certainly does not have the performance attributes of NXT Tour into and around the green, but really is for that golfer that is seeking maximum distance with a soft compression. The Gran-Z product has really been designed to be optimum for golfers with swing speeds between 78-85mph who put distance at the top of their product performance requirement.

1:47 – George Sine: In essence what happened is we generated a limited inventory of overrun product that were largely attributable to cosmetic defects or stamping registration that really didn’t meet our stringent quality standards established for our top-grade product in Japan. So, as a result of that, we had a limited supply of Gran-Z product that we basically sold as overruns in the market, and it’s likely that as we continue production of Gran-Z and those overruns are generated, that we will continue to offer them in that type of environment in the United States rather than dilute and confuse the market in Japan.

Why sell them off if you like them? Play with what you have, at least they were cheap, and if you lose them, your not out too much money.

i played them over the last few colder months...makes a very decent cold-weather ball so if anything hold on to them for the next off-season if you still play in colder weather.

they are still a decent ball. Just try not to compare the price to tour specs $88. That is a huge inflation

shoot, if I found a sub $20 ball that I liked, and most important... WORKED in my game, shezzz, you're coming off like a bandit! I'd go back and buy the whole lot before someone else does!

perfect example of what marketing and expectations does to us. if we BELIEVE something is worth a lot we believe it performs better. when he thought it was an $88/doz ball it played PERFECT for his game, spin was awesome, feel was great, yada yada. when he found out it was really only a $15/doz ball he can't wait to get rid of them.

 

and THAT's why we pay $500 for drivers and $50 per dozen golf balls. because of name and brand whoring, companies that brainwash our easily convinced equipment-ho minds, and perception, but not reality, that we play better with 'TOUR' and 'high end' equipment.
